Lidi is a traveling magician who is looked out for by the fearsome yet gentle Jericho. She knows and has great skill for many tricks but is in search of what's said to be the greatest show of them all, the Rope Trick.
As Lidi and Jericho make their way toward the city where Lidi thinks she'll find the secret of the Rope Trick, they adopt two into their little family. Daniella, an orphaned little girl, is skilled with numbers and telling fortunes. Julian, a mysterious young man, is on the run from the law.
These new additions to their party lead them into trouble. Soon, Lidi finds herself and her friends in danger of being imprisoned, and her journey must abruptly change course as they evade capture.
But there is more for Lidi to learn about her companions, herself, and their true destinies.
Like every good stand-alone children's novel, The Rope Trick combines adventure with simplicity and beauty, weaving messages about life into a story enjoyable by all ages.
Also, there are few characters in the world quite as upfront and sensible as Lidi.
