On the day before Moralin is to leave her childhood behind and enter the temple where she will become a woman, she is coaxed into leading a group of girls through a secret tunnel outside the city walls. Excited to enter forbidden territory, Moralin doesn't realize that this action will change her life forever. Moralin is captured by the Arkera, great enemies of her people, and taken across stange new lands into strange new ways of life. Moralin must discover how to face new dangers and lifelong fears, while she learns of other peoples and the path her life will take, making a couple good friends along the way. This novel has become one of my favorites, with characters to love, many landscapes to imagine, and a variety of people and beliefs. |
