The Safe-Keeper's Secret: When people have secrets that they need kept, they tell the Safe-keeper to keep them safe. Fiona and her foster brother Reed are raised by a Safe-keeper, and Fiona hopes to someday become Safe-keeper herself. One day she learns a secret that could change her life and the lives of those she cares about, and she holds on to this secret waiting for it to be revealed at its proper time. This story is short and sweet, a simple plot in an intricately designed world, with subtle twists and a few things readers may not expect. I can't say much about the story without giving everything away, but I will say this is a delightful read for those interested in discovering a new world with lovable characters and a handful of ideas to ponder.
The Truth-Teller's Tale: This novel centers around mirror twins Eleda (a Truth-Teller) and Adele (a Safe-Keeper), opposites in every way and the best of friends. Sometimes the villagers get them mixed up, not getting exactly what they bargained for, to say the least. Again, there is not much I can say about the story without giving away the entire plot. I recommend it if you like stories with practical uses of magic, friendships, personal growth, and a touch of romance.
The Dream-maker's Magic: Kellen's mother is so convinced that her only child was born a boy that she thinks Kellen somehow changed into a girl. Therefore, Kellen is raised as a boy. Though unsure if she'll ever truly be accepted for who she is, Kellen appreciates the freedom, strength, and independence she wouldn't have enjoyed had she been brought up a gentle young lady. When the town school teacher insists that Kellen join in the classes, she makes her first real friend. Gryffin, an extremely intelligent young man who's had trouble using his legs since birth, had usually kept to himself before meeting Kellen. Their friendship leads both of them to places of success and happiness, encouraging them to believe their dreams will come true. But when a new Dream Maker must be found, the lives of Kellen and Gryffin will forever be changed. |
