Name of Heroin: Talia

Basic Appearance: curly brown hair, brown eyes

Magic: mostly Empathy - mind talents (such as feeling people's thoughts)

Arrow's Of The Queen - Talia is hiding from her family because they intend to force her into marriage.
When trying to decide whether or not to run away, she finds a Companion (horse-like being that's smarter than we are) named Rolan. All she knows is that she must bring him back to the Collegium, but
no-one on her way there can tell her why.
At first she thinks that Rolan has run away, for she has never known just how Heralds are Chosen.
When they reach the Collegium, Talia asks if there is some way she can get a job there. She is then informed by the Queen herself that she's been Chosen by Rolan to become a Herald. And not just any Herald, but the one responsible for being the Queen's confidant, officially the 'Queen's Own'.
Elspeth is introduced first in this book. She's a very bratty little girl who has been told she's supposed to act that way by one of her maids. Her maid also told her horror stories about Companions. Part of Talia's job is turn Elspeth into a proper Heir to the Queen. Their relationship in this first book is that of stern sister / bratty sister. Talia seems cruel at times to Elspeth, but Elspeth is cruel to everyone. Talia must help her learn how to be a good person and get over her fear of Companions.

Arrow's Flight - Where this book starts, Elspeth and Talia are getting along like friendly sisters instead. Talia is just becomming a Herald, and Elspeth has grown into a talented and respectable young lady.
The first chapter is mainly about Elspeth being chosen. *tears of joy* Then the book moves on to tell the story of Talia's internship (adding information on her close friends and love interests).

Arrow's Fall - The book that takes Talia through some of her most difficult times, including being held prisoner by the enemy. In this book, Talia's mission is to investigate the prince who has asked for Elspeth's hand in marriage. Talia loses a close friend in this book, and readers are made to wonder through most of it whether or not Talia and her lifebonded, Dirk, will ever get the change to say they love eachother.
This is an excellent final book in the trilogy. It ties everything up well, is full of action, and even leaves a few things here and there untangled to make way for the next trilogy, The Mage Winds . These books detail Talia's adventures of becomming and being a Herald:
