About Me!

Hi there! This page is a bit of an introduction for those of you who may have some curiosity about the person behind this websit. My name is Venus (really!), and I share my home with a roommate and her two dog companions . Besides her animal companions I have currently 2 dogs and 1 kitten! My home is quite the "Animal House". I've worked for law firms for nearly 18 yrs untill I had gotten laid off in July 2004. I then worked for a year and a half at one of the casinos in CT untill I was able to get a better paying job working in customer service/data entry for an iron foundry. Before all that, I worked as a hairstylist for 10 yrs. Quite the varied work history! I became hooked on the TV series Beauty and the Beast since its first premiere and I'm still hooked! It wasn't untill August 1998 that I truly discovered the extent of the fandom regarding B&B.

It all started when I bought a Web TV. In a few days time I discovered all kinds of sites related to the TV series and lots of fan fiction which I devoured as well. I was in heaven! Since the series end I had satisfied myself with watching the episodes that I had taped and reading the comic books and other books that were published in the early 1990's. The discovery of all that Fan Fiction out there overwhelmed me! Then I discovered the B&B chat rooms and a whole new world opened up for me. I have met some really wonderful people and have made friends with fans from all over the U.S. and abroad. I also discovered much to my surprise that the conventions for Beauty and the Beast were still going on even after 16 years since the show has been off the air! The Fandom is alive and still going!

It wasn't too long before I finally bought a PC in Nov. 1998 and within a couple of months, with help and encouragement from my internet friend from Spain, that I created this websit. It has been a labor of love and lots of fun! Though I must admit that I did get a few nasty surprises when I first put up my site only to discover that most of the pictures, backgrounds and gifs were not there! LOL But as you can see for yourself the problem was solved or as my friend would say "All has a solution"! Besides playing with the computer, I paint ceramic fantasy figurines and ceramic cat dolls. I like to collect Noritaki china, and B&B memoribila. I also like photography, gardening and I make my own scented votive candles. I also love to hit tag sales and flea markets.

Here is some of the ceramic work I've done.

Now I'd like to introduce you to the rest of my household, past and present,

Here are three of the dogs, Nikita,a Samoyed female who spent the first 8 months of her life in a crate at a pet store before we bought her, Chance,a husky mix who was hand-raised and bottle fed when he was 3 days old. His mother had a litter of 13 pups and she was killing them. So he was brought home in order to try and save him. He is the only survivor of that litter. Mitzi, a poodle-pekinese mix adopted from the local dog pound after a two week stay. Currently Nikita is staying with my ex-husband from whom I am now divorced. Chance had been put up for adoption at Valley Shore Animal League, a no-kill shelter in Westbrook, CT., he was adopted after only being there for 3 days.

Here is a group picture of the puppies Nikita and Chance had before I had the opportunity to get Chance fixed! We found homes for 5 of the pups and kept two, Bear and Belle. You'll notice that one pup is missing from the picture (well you can see a tip of the tail towards the bottom). It was "mission impossible" trying to get all 7 in one shot!

Belle and Bear all grown up. Belle takes after Chance while Bear takes after Nikita in looks and temperament. Belle has been adopted by a great and understanding couple in Mass., Bear has been adopted by a loving couple who will give him the attention and love he deserves. He will now be a "beach doggie". As the new caregivers live near the shore. They are both greatly missed but it is for the best for them both.

Prince adopted from "Protectors of Animals", currently Prince and Mitzi are the only two dogs that are with me now. Hopefully they will be able to remain with me untill the time comes when they must cross the "Rainbow Bridge".

Now for the Kitty Gallery!

(picture of Luna coming soon)

I now have a new addition to the household, her name is Luna, she is a black & white tuxedo kitten. No picture yet, but should have one of her soon.

Shadow, Pharaoh, Cleo, Snowy and Caesar

They are all together in kitty heaven now.

I hope you enjoy your visit to my site and hopefully I will be updating more web pages given time with my crazy upsidedown life. The divorce has been final for well over a year now and my home in the country has been sold. I now live in a cute mobile home in the city. Forgive me if I have not answered emails sent to my email account in the past year due to circumstances beyond my control and sever problems on the home front. Life is not allways a smooth road, at least this past year has been alot better than 2005. I can only hope and pray that the coming year 2007 is even better than 2006. Take care and try to keep the dream alive.
