Anita meets the Rat King; Rafael in a dungeon underneath the Circus of the Damn. A popular tourist attraction the vampires of St. Louis created. Through out the series we meet many different rats. One of them is a professor at the university; Louis Fane . He loves to teach so he keeps his affliction a secret. Except that his new girlfriend, Veronica, accepts his disease. She is also Anita's best friend. Then we have my favorite of the rats, Dr. Lillian. She is a fifty-year-old woman who takes care of the local shifter community. Anita is the only human who has been treated by her. In book 10, Narcisuss In Chains, we see more Rat action. Four new rats are introduced. Rafael makes his enforcers help out by guarding Anita when she had to face Richard's whole pack. Claudia is a tall woman who's familair with weapons just like Anita. She reminded me of a taller version of Anita, only she is of course a rat and Anita is well Anita.
