Embraced

Darkness falls as large clouds roll in covering the full moon. A rummble is heard as I walk out onto the dirt path. A chill runs down my spine as the cold wind blows against my unbound hair. I look each way making sure I am not followed. There as been an increase in deaths these last few days and I need to be aware of my surroundings.

The light of the full moon has been completely blocked. I tighten my hold on my wool cloak. Another rumble is heard and a flash of light streaks across the black night sky. I hear a twig break. I stop and look around me. In the darkness, I can only see a few feet ahead of me. I turn and listen, nothing, so onward I go to my destination.

Rain is falling now and I tighten my grip on my cloak and put on my hood. I must keep dry, its vital that I keep dry or he will be upset with me. I must not stir his anger at me. He gets so violent when he is angry.

Lighting, then the loud vibrating rumble of thunder. Chills dance upon my skin. The rain is falling heavier I need to hurry or I may not stay dry. I begin to run. Faster and faster my heeled feet carry me over the dry wet leaves and small rocks towards my destination. I should be almost there. I search the night looking for my sign but the rain is making my vision difficult. Wait! What is that? Could it be what I am looking for? Perhaps, it looks like a candle maybe more. I turn towards the dancing light and sure enough, once I step close to the run down building, the candles are surely what I have been looking for. I finally reached my destination. I lift the latch and walk in.............
