Basic History to Yu-Gi-Oh

Yu-Gi-Oh Issue #1

"Yu-Gi-Oh!" first began life as a manga series created by Kazuki Takahashi in 1996, for the Shonen Jump Magazine in Japan. It became widely popular so in 1998, Toei Animation creater the first anime series and soon after, a movie. Though the series only lasted a few months on the air, Bandai and Konami had enough time to profit on hype. Yu-Gi-Oh merchaindise released from the series, including posters, calendars, stationary even cup noodles(?). Konami has released many different video games for GameBoy, Playstation console and another has been released for Gameboy Advanced based upon the variety of games.

Yu-Gi-Oh!'s most popular release is the Duel Monsters Official Card game. This role-playing card game has beat out even the Pocet Monsters TCG in Japan. Americans are starting to catch onto the DM craze (cause of Pokemon) wanting to know everything they can about the game even though it is in Japanese.

Right now, 4Kids Entertainment, the company which dubbed the Pokémon anime has aquired the rights to release Yu-Gi-Oh into the USA. Most likely they will change the original story. All Yu-Gi-Oh fans out there please aide us in the petition:
