For centuries there have been tales of beings shrouded
in darkness.
Of those who sleep by day and feed from inoscent
victims by night.
They are the vampires.
Traditional vampires are sensitive to sunlight, drink
blood, are a
afraid or can be hurt by holy water and crusafixes.
They are killed
with a steak through the heart and do not like garlic
or silver. They also
must sleep in a coffin. This idea was started with
dracula, that he
had to sleep in a coffin filled with dirt from his homeland,
or something
along those lines.
Modern tales of vampires seem to be more realastic and
believable.
Maybe by the fact that they could be walking amongst
us. Many modern
vampire tales still include the fear of sunlight.
Some even like crosses.
The one thing that keeps all Vampires the same is their
need for blood. Be
it pure lust or that their blood cannot sustain their
own hemogloben, they
always feed. Even if its once every century.
Even the good vampire
"Angel" from BTVS had to drink blood, but i think he
got cows blood
from the local butcher.
Here are some of my favorite vampires from movies and
TV shows.
