Eriador Charter
Purpose Statement: The purpose of Eriador is to promote the creation and growth of realms in Iowa and in surrounding states. In doing this it also maintains a loaner arsenal, purchases large items for use by member realms, and organizes inter realm events. Member realms are encouraged to fight and camp together at events, but aren’t required to do so.
1.0 Creation of New Realms
1.1 Loaner Arsenal
1.1.1 Eriador maintains a variety of weapons and shields for the purpose of loaning out to potential new realms.
1.1.2 Interested prospective realms must petition the Eriador council for use. If approved, they’re allowed to keep the arsenal until the council decides they’re up and going.
1.1.3 The arsenal is purchased from Eriador funds and donations and is created and maintained by volunteer foam smiths. The only equipment that may be purchased from an outside source is equipment that cannot be replicated by local sources.
1.1.4 Equipment damaged beyond repair must be reported and the destroyed weapon returned with the rest of the arsenal must be in good repair when loaned and when returned.
2.0 Funding
2.1 Sources of Money
2.1.1 Eriador events will have a fee of $1 per person regardless of other costs. This $1 goes into the general Eriador treasury.
2.2 It is the treasurer’s responsibility to keep the treasury and to maintain accurate and open records as to sources of income and expenses.
2.3 The Eriador treasury may be spent on the loaner arsenal, Eriador events, and large item purchases. All purchases must be approved by the council.
3.0 Government
3.1 All realms maintain independent autonomy and national Belegarth War Council status.
3.2 The Eriador council may only pass decisions regarding the use of Eriador funds and the oversight of Kingdom events and Realm fostering.
3.3 The Eriador council will be composed of one representative and one alternate from each member Realm. Each Realm gets one vote.
3.4 The council will elect amongst itself a chairperson, a treasurer, and a secretary.
3.4.1 The chair will preside over meetings
3.4.2 The treasurer will maintain financial records and the Eriador coffers.
3.4.3 The secretary will take and post minutes from council meetings.
3.5 In order to be a member realm of the Eriador, the council must pass a 2/3 majority vote. The major criterion is dedication to the game.

4.1 Eriador events will be scheduled once per month when possible
4.2 All fighters are welcome regardless of whether or not they’re members of Eriador.
4.3 Schedule of events at Eriador events are up to the hosting Realm.
