Journal
December 9, 2003: Finally getting
back to updating this journal...
In the last couple weeks, several things have been updated or revamped.
Revamped... the info pages on the other ex-humming bird members and the Spread
Peace portion of my site. I finally added something to the "random
translations" on Let's Talk Music and joined the Peace Web Ring (see the
Japanese version of Spread Peace) last week. Both Fukuyama-san and Aso-san have
been very busy the last few months, so lots of news has been added... and today,
I added some info on a new JAM project song. Thank you to the people on
Fukuyama-san's BBS who helped me with being able to understand and pronounce the
song title. Coming soon: translation/report of the recent Blues City West
internet radio interview with Fukuyama-san...
Christmas and the New Year are coming soon. A lot has happened this year... and next year looks to be just as full. ^ ^ peace
November 9, 2003: A few
things added the last couple weeks. I added a "peace links" page and
updated the featured artists in "Let's Talk Music". Also several links
have been added throughout the sites, including a link to the first Yoshiki
Fukuyama site in Spanish! Alright, Nidia!
You may have noticed, the menus have been changed a bit. I got tired of people
having to go through some pages to get to others. Hopefully, this will make
things a little easier.
October 12, 2003: Fukuyama Yoshiki
Band member, Jun Imai, finally has his own official web site. I added it to the
links page.
Also, after too long, I've finally started to update "Let's Talk
Music". The official artists links have been checked, updated, and added
to. Also, I've finally given up on trying to catalog all of my music collection.
Instead, it is being replaced with a page on some of my favorite albums. Also,
as time permits, I have a few songs, not done by Yoshiki Fukuyama, that I'd like
to translate. Those will go in under the heading "Random
Translations". The "coming soon" labels on the menu page should
slowly begin to disappear over the next couple days... peace
October 8, 2003: Finally finished the translation of Fukuyama-san's new solo album. Next step is to translate the new JAM Project album and a few others I got behind on...
I also added a few links: a couple
of Yoshiki Fukuyama related sites, and my good friend Kimura-san's site. Check
them out!
peace
August 28, 2003: Wow!
Fukuyama-san is extremely busy this year! He's already announced 5 concert dates
in December! Information has been added to the concert schedule page.
I just got Fukuyama-san's solo CD
last night! It's totally awesome! I'll start work on the translations this
weekend. Right now, it's 2:00am, and I'm going to bed.
peace
August 18, 2003: Two of the CDs I ordered came in on my birthday last Friday. \(^^)/ I wasn't actually able to go pick them up until the next day because I had to work, but it was a good birthday present none-the-less. Today, I added translations for JAM Project's "The Gate of the Hell" and "senshi yo nemure..." to the lyrics page. I hope to have "majin kenzan", from the same CD, and "haundo mousou", from the "SONGS FROM age" album translated and up by the end of the week. Also, I made a few changes to the lyrics and translations page that should make things a little easier to navigate...
Just 4 more days to go until Fukuyama-san's solo CD goes on sale! I've already ordered it. Hopefully, I'll get it next week!
August 14, 2003: Muraki-san
has created an English version of her LoveFaith page. I don't know how long it's
been up. She had said something about working on an English version, but I
hadn't seen any links to it from her regular site. I just stumbled on it
tonight, and it looks very good. ^-^ Anyhow, the links pages and
translations page have been updated to include links to the English version as
well as the Japanese version.
Enjoy.
(It's now 1am and I'm going to bed.)
peace
August 10, 2003: Today there are just minor updates. I found a was spelling someone's name wrong and fixed it on a couple pages. Also, I updated a few comments on the Profile and Discography pages.
August 9, 2003: I just found out the official title of JAM Project's new album. The updated title has been added to the main pages and the discography pages. I've also added the album's song list. It looks good!
I've ordered the three CDs coming
out in July and August. I'll order the two coming out in September as the time
gets closer. This is my month to overdose on Fukuyama-san's music! (heehee...
the children are hiding already...)
peace
July 20, 2003: I was wrong. Some big updates came a lot sooner than I thought... Fukuyama-san put up the full info on his album yesterday! Also, there's another CD coming out this month AND a couple more concerts added to the list AND some upcoming tv appearances! That's 5 CDs, 2 TV appearances, and 7 concerts (so far...) between now and the end of September. He's definitely keeping busy!
Now, which kid am I going to hawk so I can afford the 5 CDs...? (just kidding, heehee)
Oh, by the way... the DSL connection
has finally been fixed. Yeah!
Till next time, everyone, take care.
peace
ps If you want to see a really cool pic, check out the image that I think is
going to be on the cover of Fukuyama-san's debut solo album!

July 12, 2003: Still without
DSL. (sigh) They keep apologizing and now a supervisor is directly on the
case to find out why we're still disconnected. I was told it may take up
to 72 hours. Right now we're at 40 hours and counting...
The translations to "In the Chaos" and "Forever & Ever"
are finished! A big thanks goes to my oldest daughter, Eleanor, for her
help.
Also, I've added another July date to the concert schedule page.
The next BIG updates will, of course, be in August when the next CDs come out...
including Fukuyama-san's first solo album! I can't wait!
peace
July 5, 2003: Lots of updates today. (Yea! Finally!)
Finally got the translation for
"Skill" up! I've got to work a couple extra days this week, so it may
be a bit longer before I get to finishing "In the Chaos" and
"Forever & Ever".
The July 11th concert was added to the concert schedule page. Also, four more
Fukuyama fan links were added. Please, check them out.
Not bad, considering I'm working with a 56k modem today. 56k is slow, but it's better than nothing. For four days this week, I was without an internet connection at all, due to a screw up at the phone company. I miss my DSL connection! Hopefully, they'll get their act together and reconnect me Monday. I was told it would take 48 hours. That was last Monday... and of course, there's no one to complain to in the office during the holiday weekend. (sigh) Hopefully, they'll get it done Monday.
peace
June 8, 2003: I haven't had time to finish my translations yet... real life gets in the way sometimes. Anybody know how to fix a hot water heater???
Fukuyama-san is certainly busy! I gleaned several information updates from his official home page: we now know the titles of the CDs being released in August, as well as the titles of two more in September! All this at a time when I'm trying to save up money!!! Ah, well... I'll break down and buy them. It won't cost that much...
Also, there's another JAM Project concert in September... see the "Fukuyama-san Live" page for more info.
By the way, I've only seen the name
of the Playstation2 game that JAM project's 9/26 release CD is for written in
katakana. The last word of the English version of the title might be
"war" instead of "woe". If anyone sees a reliable source
that has the name written in English, please let me know. Thanks.
peace
May 28, 2003: Today's big
news is that Fukuyama-san has finally announced a truly official release date
for his solo album! August 22nd... one week after my birthday. I know what gift
I want this year, even if it is a week late. (heehee) Actually, there's two CDs
I want. The JAM project CD single featuring Fukuyama-san comes out August 6th.
Speaking of "hachigatsu muika" (August 6th), I hope that song's on the
new album. I want the lyrics so I can fully translate it! What I can make out of
it is cool! A very thought provoking song...
Speaking of translations, JAM Project's "Little Wing" has been
translated and posted. "In the Chaos", "Skill", and
"Forever & Ever" should be finished and uploaded soon.
Let's Talk Music has been revamped. I've added some "featured artist"
pages to try to introduce a few great singers/groups that I feel are not as well
known as they deserve. There's a few other changes and additions too. You'll
just have to look and see...
General Blather's been revamped and added to too... I hope you like it. I
thought the old look was a bit too bland. One section I will be adding: a Japan
trip journal. My oldest daughter and I plan to go for a couple weeks early next
year, and I'm excited! A real vacation to a place I really want to visit! I plan
to meet lots of people and take lots of pictures. You'll be hearing more as time
gets closer...
Currently, it is 9:00pm PST on May
28th where I sit. It's 2:00pm on May 29th in Australia, 1:00pm on May 29th in
Japan.
Go to http://homepage.mac.com/swampyhatto/index-e.html
and write a "hello" note to SWAMPS' lead singer, Hatto. Today's
his 34th birthday.
Take care... peace
April 29, 2003: My personal life has been very busy lately... and in the middle of it all, I decide that several areas of the site need to be revamped. Well, that's what's happening - slowly. Today, I added a bunch to the links page and a little to the discography page. A few pages have been revamped already. Several will be soon. Hopefully, it'll all come off without too many problems. -peace
April 15, 2003: Always, this seems to be the last page updated... been spending the weekend catching up on updates and emails. Sakura-Con 2003 came and went last week. As usual, it was a total blast! For three days, we and 3,024 attendees transformed the Seattle Airport Hilton into a magical living entity. The eeriest thing is walking through the hotel after it's all over and finding it changed back into just a hotel.
This year, my husband performed his diplomatic duties as ANCEA President, as well as put in a shift running convention security. I was Volunteer Coordinator this year. My staff of three and I in the office spent the con funneling volunteers out to wherever needed - and they definitely were needed! Besides the countless hours put in by the 80+ volunteers on staff (you think we get paid for this??), we had 99 drop in volunteers putting in a combined total of 630+ hours work at the convention.
One of the highlights of the convention for me was when Basara Nekki himself (and Gubaba) walked into the volunteer office! For privacy reasons, I won't give the cos-player's real name, but I will tell you that he was a pleasant quiet gentleman who worked a good 12 hours for us.
I'll be posting a more complete Sakura-Con report in
General Blather, with more detail and pictures, sometime later this week...
today if I get a chance, but no promises. I want to finish the updates on
the Yoshiki Fukuyama site first. peace...
March 1, 2003: This week, the
Great Lurker, Fukuyama-san himself actually posted five times on his official
BBS! Usually, he only posts once a month or so, so this week has been a real
treat. (big smile) Today, I updated the live schedule page with some information
he had posted.
Later today sometime, I plan to add a couple more songs to ponder and another
fun song to Let's Talk Music. If they're not up by tonight (today's pretty
busy...) they will be early tomorrow.
And, as always, but especially now, peace!
February 24, 2003: Today it
looks like spring but feels like winter. Spring will be here soon enough.
A little over a year ago, I started
this site because there was not much else in English about Fukuyama-san on the
internet. Now my friend Terry (aka Shiro-san) has decided to do the same for
Chie Kajiura. He picked the hard job, because there's not much about her out
there in English or Japanese. So far, his site's turning out pretty good. I've
added it to the links pages.
In other news, I added a Gilbert O'Sullivan link on Let's Talk Music. There's
also a couple new Songs to Ponder: White Lion's "When The Children
Cry" and John Lennon's "Instant Karma". At the time of this
writing, "Instant Karma" isn't finished yet, but it should be before I
go to bed tonight. On the subject of things to ponder, I've started a Spread
Love and Peace project. I'd like everyone who can to, please, contribute.
There's too much talk of war on the news these days. We need to counter that!
Together we can do it!
As always... peace
February 18, 2003: It's 1:40am and I'm ready for bed... but before I go, I'll let you know about the updates from the last couple days. On "Let's Talk Music", additions have been made to the fan site links (The Band), official artist links (Lenny Kravitz), songs to ponder (The Beatles' "Revolution"), and fun songs (Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen).
On the Fukuyama site, I've added a few more links in the last couple weeks. Also I've added six Wild Vox concerts to the live schedule page. Looks like Fukuyama-san's real busy for the next two months!
Well, good night all... and peace (especially in these crazy times)
February 2, 2002: Happy
Groundhog's Day! I just looked at my calendar. That means that spring isn't too
far away. It's been a very mild, but very wet winter. I'm ready to dry out a
little...
There's been a lot of bad things in the news lately... an impending war that no
one but the government wants, death of the shuttle Challenger crew... but here,
at least, there is some happy news...
We finished the Humming Bird song translations! If we can find the words to a
couple rare promo releases, we'll translate them too... but all the publicly
released songs have now been translated! I also finished another Kirenjaku
song... only two more to go. I went back and redid one of the first songs I'd
put up, "tsuki no sasayaki". Shiro-san redid a couple of his too.
Sometime this week, I'll redo "kinjirareta sakibi". That was the first
song I'd translated... so it needs a little work, I'm afraid. (smile)
I added a new section, "Fukuyama-san's Anime Connections". For now,
you get to it through the profile page or the discography page. Eventually, I'll
redo the menus to give it it's own listing... also updated the profile page a
little last week. For this week, it's the above mentioned translation work and a
few more site links to be added when I get the time. Have fun! See you next
time... peace!
January 13, 2003: This week
saw the first anniversary of this site. Just a year ago, this site started with
7 pages. My friends tell me I'm obsessive-compulsive. After counting the pages
on this site this week, I'm beginning to think they're right! 245 pages and 251
site links. Yea, that's two more links than it says on the top page. I added two
today. If you look around the Yoshiki Fukuyama site, you'll notice a few
new pictures. Ndo-san
has offered use of some of his newer pics, and TAKA-Q-san
gave me three of his wonderful pics to use. Big thanks to both these gentlemen!
Please, show your appreciation by following the links to their sites.
About today's updates, one of TAKA-Q-san's pics is of Fukuyama-san
performing with Tetsuro Morita last New Years Eve. It reminded me that I had
failed to mention anything on the site about the album and concert tour
Fukuyama-san had worked on with Morita-san. Look on the profile pages for more
info. Also, a link to Morita-san's site has been added to the Fukuyama links
pages.
On a sad note, Maurice Gibb, one of the Bee Gees, died yesterday morning.
Thinking about him, I went to the official artists links page and found that I
had failed to include a link to the Bee Gees official site. That's now been
corrected. I've always liked the Bee Gees sound. Maurice will be missed. I can't
help wondering what the remaining Gibb brothers will do now.
A few songs have been added to the translations this week. We're nearly done
with all the songs we have lyrics for. Next step is to go in and revise those we
decide need work, but things will slow to a leisurely pace until Fukuyama-san's
next release comes out.
It's been a busy week! Everyone, take care, and as usual... peace
P.S. also added today, addition to the live page, and translation for "atarashii
kaze".
January 4, 2003: Happy New
Year, everyone! I can't believe how fast the last year has passed.
Only four days left until this sites first anniversary. Thank you, all 5.000+
visitors who have come this year!
Today, I've been doing a little "start the year" cleaning both in my
home and here on my home page. I hope you like the results. I added three more
song translations today. That project is going faster than I thought! Out of all
of Fukuyama-san's songs released, we have less than ten left to translate.
Thank you, Shiro-san, for all your help... and for spurring me on to finish a
page I had neglected for too long.
Also, I've added a couple more recent pics of Fukuyama-san to the top page and
the live info page. A special thank you to ndo-san
for again allowing me to use his photographs on my site.
Here's to a great 2003!
peace
