hara kara no uta
(song from the gut)
sung by Far East Native
translation by Alinda Sue...

note: I originally got the lyrics off their official website then translated them after hearing the song during the CBGB 100th Broadcast Commemoration Concert broadcast. A few months ago, when I got to see them perform the song live, I realized I had a few words wrong.  Now, after seeing them live and listening to the CD repeatedly, I think I can say this is the final revision.             -peace-

miageta kono sora wa aoku aoku dokomademo
ano koro to kawarazu kagayaiteru
usureyuku rekeshi no katasumi de (yeah)
ima demo karera wa toi kaketeru   Peace and love.

kamikaze ga fukanai koto wa shitteita
keredomo dare hitori utagawazu ni
furusato no omoi wo tojikomete (yeah)
ni do to modorenai tabi ni deta

himawari ga saku
(yeah) oka wo koete

toki no uzu ni nomikomareta
harakara no uta   kokoro ni sakebi tsudzukeru

ima mou ichi do mitsume naosu kono sekai de
wasurecha ikenai   Just peace in your soul.
It’s hard way, hard way, hard way, together way!
(Hard way, hard way, hard way, tomorrow way!)

miageta kono sora wa aoku aoku dokomademo
ano koro to kawarazu kagayaiteru
usureyuku rekeshi no katasumi de (yeah)
ima demo karera wa toi kaketeru   Peace and love.
Peace and love…  (ooh... yeah)
in the morning...

Looked up at the sky and saw blue, blue everywhere
Unchanging with time and shining
Fading away this corner of history (yeah)
Even now they have questions regarding peace and love

It was known that the winds of god would not blow
Still, without any person suspecting
Thoughts of hometown are closed away (yeah)
On a journey where there is no returning again

I cross over a hill (yeah)
Where sunflowers bloom.

While drinking in the eddies of time
A song from deep in my gut continues to cry out

Now one more time, gazing again at this world
We must not forget   Just peace in your soul
It’s very hard, but we must work together!
It’s hard, we must work very hard for tomorrow… !

Looked up at the sky and saw blue, blue everywhere
Unchanging with time and shining
Fading away this corner of history (yeah)
Even now they have questions regarding peace and love
Peace and love… (ooh... yeah)
in the morning...
