Our Wedding

The wedding almost went by without a hitch thanks to our wonderful friends and families! The worst of it was that the entire midwest seemed to be plagued with the flu--our dear bridesmaid Amy M. was unable to get out of bed on the wedding day. Amy the bride coughed through the wedding with a cold. And Amy and Jonathan spent the second night of their honeymoon sitting on the bathroom floor while Amy puked. (But we returned to the honeymoon a few days after she recovered). Otherwise the wedding was wonderful--it went so fast! Amy's favorite moment was when Jonathan sang i folkviseton to her. Jonathan's favorite moment was probably when he finished singing and didn't have to be nervous anymore! Our mothers entered and lighted the candelabras while Pastor Joel sang the beautiful worhsip song, "Jesus, What a Beautiful Name." Jenny and Jen entered in turn to the tune of For the Beauty of the Earth. Little Taylor, made it down the aisle, too--on the third try! Amy's dad walked her down the aisle while Brudmarsch från Delsbo played on the violin. Jonathan's mom, sister, and brother sang Jag vill ge dig o Herre min lovsång and then our mothers read the scriptures we had chosen, in English and Swedish. Ron did the ceremony and led us in traditional vows, and Jonathan and I exchanged rings with Swedish vows. Jonathan's dad and Amy's Grandma Bea prayed, and Jenny sang "Be Thou My Vision." It seemed like the day would never come, but then it went by so fast, like a dream. We did the reception a little Swedish with speaches from our guests. It was so much fun!
