Where the sun represents: Honor, Truth, Justice, & Compassion and where each knight represents a ray of that sun, spreading its warmth and influence wherever he goes.
Each knight will follow a strict code of conduct on and off the field of battle.
Battle Field regulations:
Squires to knights are also required to act this way in battle and off.
To become a knight one must succeed in three areas. Prove worthiness in battle, prove knightly character, prove dedication to knighthood.
This is done by moving through the ranks below.
Follower (rank one)
1. To become a Follower one must have his own weapons.
2. One must chose a battle name.
3. Be in attendance at 3 out of 5 events (field battles, battle practice, kingdom battles, feasts etc.)
4. Obtain sponsorship (or endorsement) by a hero or Knight.
5. If the applicant wants to eventually be a Paladin that must be noted here so the proper religious training can be had along the way. (Religious training is assumed not actual)
Retainer (rank two)
1. To become a Retainer one must have made and be able to repair his own weapons.
2. Have your own costume.
3. Know all the Belegarth rules
4. Attended 8 out of 16 events (this can include attendance already reported for Squire).
5. Participate in every Championship Battle held when at attendance.
6. Be victorious in at least 5 honor battles with anyone rank two or above.
7. Prove knightly virtues (i.e. courtesy, honor, and bravery) at all events.
Squire (rank three)
1. To become a Squire one must prove primary proficiency with knightly arms (a Shield and a one-handed weapon such as a sword, axe,
mace, or flail) by being a ‘Winner’ at least 4 times in the Championship Battles.
2. Must wear complete body armor (i.e. armor covering the torso, or “death-blow” areas).
3. Must wear a surcoat, tabard, or coat-of-arms consisting of personally chosen colors and/or symbols.
4. Wield a shield displaying personally chosen colors and/or symbols.
5. Have made at least 2 other weapons than those normally carried into battle and have them available for others to use.
6. Must have introduced at least one other person to Belegarth
7. Must have hosted an event.
Knight
1. Prove proficiency in battle with at least three different weapons or fighting styles.
2. Hold the Championship position for 8 consecutive Champion Battles or 10 times out of 14 Champion Battles.
3. Must have hosted at least two events.
4. Secure the approval of the entire council for knighthood.
5. Be knighted by a knight.
Each step must be initialled by the person's sponsoring knight.

Sir Elkar was Knighted in July of 1997 by Lord Turin Adlerik of the Tyrdann Protectorate in Ered Duath.
Sir Turin was knighted by Sir Cedric Winterbourne of Korayn (from the Highlands of Chaos) in Ered Duath.
Sir Cedric was knighted by Sir Thanos Dur Terrakhan of Chaos in 1994 in the Highlands of Chaos.
Sir Thanos Dur Terrakhan of Chaos was knighted by Sir Gamelon (White Tiger) in 1993 in Middle Earth.
Sir Gamelon was knighted by Sir Geoffrey of the Hillside.
Sir Geoffrey (Beowulf the Dreamner) was knighted by King Arion Windwalker in 1985
King Arion was rightful king of Middle Earth.
