My family and I thought this one was really funny, but you might not. The call was actually four minutes long but I cut out most of it and left just the best part.
I rate this one a 5 (I actually thought it was funnier, but you might not.)
Let me explain the setting: Earlier in the day, some telemarketer called my house, and bugged my dad while he was busy. Turns out, it was just an autodialer that calls and leaves messages (with their telephone number) on your message machine. I intended to call the number and bug them. So, I made a cd with some cats sounds on it (I have a bunch of cats that fight all the time), and then called them with the cd player next to me. My script below includes a bit of stuff that's not on the recording just so you know what the guy is talking about.
Here's what happens:
Devin: Alright, now if I have a loan for, uh, a longer amount of time, it will cost me more, right?
Guy: As far as the payment, you'll make more payments over a 30 year loan then you would a 20 or 25 year loan.
Devin: Okay.
Guy: Yeah, so then the payments you would pay...you would pay more, than if you would just have a 20 year loan or a 15 year loan.
Devin: Okay.
The recording starts here:
Guy: The interest rates would be lower, but since it only (???) since you only pay it back over 15 instead of 30 years the payments will be higher, but you'll pay... you'll..the total payback will be a lot less.
Devin: Okay............(sniff).......Hold on, let me ask my wife somethin'.
Guy: Okay.
(5 second pause)
Devin: Hey honey. Uh, he says that the rates are....such n' such.
(cat growling/hissing)
Devin: Alright, we'll call you back if we're interested.
Guy: Okay. Thanks a lot.
Devin: Thanks.
(beep (me turning phone off))
Devin & Adam: (Laughing)
