and the vampire who hypnotized Catherine, in order to get Anita to find out who had been killing the vampires in town.

a streak of cruelty that was tinged with madness, Aubrey moved in and out of Anita's life during this book, and was finally
killed
by Edward and Anita as they were hunting Nikolaus down to kill her.
