retreating from the dock, you discovered the first tower. that was when you realized, that these were really not towers at all. there were 4 large, very thin cones that shot into the sky. their base was quite large, but they probably reached a needle-point at the top. 4 of them made up a single spire. the space between the 4 points at the top was home to a floating sphere, which was probably where you needed to be. you traveled all around the 4 bases, seeing no way to get between them, as they melded together far above your head. you did, however, find a door. it was a minor Gate, meant only to get you through the wall. stepping in, you saw a fountain.
you approached it slowly, and traced your fingers through the water. you fealt a powerful healing energy surge through you, and then fealt a sense of calm- that even kept Kyle normal. the room, aside from having a few Sentinels (you checked, they were not going to fight you) around, was empty. you were not surprised, and assumed that there would be many more in other areas. you left through a different door than you entered, and looked up. you were probably below the sphere now, because you were in the center of the spires. clouds were blocking your view from here. you looked around this 'court yard' and decided against standing near the base of the spires here. there were large plants here, that you did not doubt, could eat you alive. a spiral stair case (with no rail, you noted) started in the center of the yard and went up through the clouds, as high as you could see (which was easily 15 miles, perhaps another 5 after the clouds). that made you uneasy, knowing that you had to climb that. reluctantly, you began the long ascent, trying your best not to look down.
