On the surface it seems like a burned out wasteland, lights that have never shone in years, neon bulbs still dangling from the fires of the past wars. Some buildings have been rebuilt by the government, such as the three theatres of the government, which are identified by their corporate names and show plays produced and directed by Channel 1. Mostly it is a wasteland, yet the tourists see everything as what it was, a blinding circus of lights and advertising. The treaty clearly stated that such a thing was no longer acceptable, but they kept the buildings, and both side decided to use them.

There are three sectors, all working independently but with a common cause. They believe that some still can be saved, that if they set foot in New York, they may be close to returning for good. They are there to return people to the state of tolerance and defiance that once made America great. Unlike some rebels, they do not intend to kill those who have been sung into Britney's deep and mind-numbing sleep to be remade in the government's own image. Instead, they believe that some can be saved, and can come back to a true democratic society. They only know about Britney from their own observations; almost all of the Times Square group has lost someone immediate to Britney's calling. The area is small and only comprises seven city blocks on two avenues and one long block down 42nd st, but it is the most serious battlefield for freedom, as it was before. The ghosts of Times Square haunt these streets, but they haunt in the name of good and the name of freedom. Only one neon sign remains lit, in sharp contrast to the lights that once turned night into day: the American flag on the small substation of the NYPD, the one that only has 50 stars, of which only the red and white bars and one single star is lit.

The first ghost of Times Square is on 42nd St. The Jukebox Heroes live in the relics of the old arcade that was torn down years before Britney, a victim of the gangs of New York. The jukebox facade was rebuilt, as were most of the video games. These games mimic the religious and hateful games played by the normal Channel 2 youth, but reveal the contradictions of their hate, while the Snack Bar serves the junk food of many cultures. As with most of the tourist traps, the back room houses recreation for the New Yorker with classic games of the past. The owner is the game master Tommy Hoon. In fact, it was military video games that made him want to join the Army in the 2nd Iraq war. After being blinded by a gas attack he learned to play the games he loved by hearing and sense. He knows the power of the video game and engineered most of the deprogramming games himself.

At the corner of 42nd and 7th is the scrolling marquee. It is the only light fixture to transmit anything, but instead of news it distributes contradictions. Tourists, though, see just channel 1 news.

To the right of the marquee on Seventh is the Sports Cafe. It was taken over by the Council of SUE (Social Unity and Equality party, the ruling group of Suffolk County) and given into the hands of a curious subcouncil. One of the few places where the two sides meet, the subcouncil consists of both inverse lesbians from New Jersey and hardcore Suffolk denizens who remember Tina Washington. They administer the cafe as a living memorial, serving up soul food and broadcasting all women's sports all the time. They are there to honor a woman who lived and died for sport, not participate in any form of deprogramming, so the rooms to the right plays the national team games and women's soccer from Channel 7. Before the ban, Roy and Dale even broadcast a talk show from here, their love for Tina's former teammate blinding them to who Linda Wolfe had become. On the left side of the bar is continuious broadcasting of the New York Basketball Federation, international women's sports and the NYU Violet Pride.

To the left of the marquee is the Metal Grill, known as a brilliant tourist trap. The upper level is owned by the Street Merchants Union, selling stolen shirts bearing all the actresses' and singers' likenesses. Downstairs is a loud, booming heavy metal bar. It has been proven that the loud noises emitted from such loud music can stun a Channel 1 person briefly, during which time the waiters and waitresses take all they can from the people, replacing it with New York-made items with contradictions. The stolen items are then cleaned and sold upstairs. While profitable, most Channel 1 people do not see the contradictions and all the new stuff they get just ends up in the back of the closet.

Behind the marquee is the subway station which is the convergence of all lines that touch Manhattan. Everyone in New York knows to never take the subway out of Times Square between 7:00pm and 8:00pm. Each line arrives at a certain time and whisks the brainwashed away from their hotels and into different locations meant to serve two purposes. These areas can frighten and scar the hopelessly brainwashed, or deliver those who are awakening to a new home where their learning can continue. Each train has its own purpose and concept.

Northbound A: Its next stop is Harlem, where Channel 4 blacks are exposed to the home of true black ingenuity, jazz, and commerce. Whites are merely terrified by the sheer blackness of it.

Southbound A: The Rockaways, where firemen and police officers live and booze is plentiful.

Northbound B: Museum of Natural History, where they learn about evolution and/or are locked in the torture chamber known as the Hall of Arabs.

Southbound B: Brighton Beach, where the Russian mob holds sway and the brainwashed find themselves awash in a world of foreign language.

Northbound C: Museum of Natural History.

Southbound C: Washington Square, proud home of the gay man.

Northbound D: Yankee Stadium, where the train exits right in front of the ever-ready Bleacher Creatures.

Southbound D: Atlantic Avenue/Pacific Street, where tourists wander for hours in the dizzying transfer tunnels.

Northbound E: 71st/Continental Avenue is next. On the way, a neverending bazaar of street merchants patrol the cars as it leads them to the home of the Street Merchants Union. By the end of the trip, the brainwashed are willing to literally give the shirt off their back just to catch a train or a bus back to the hotel district.

Southbound E: West 4th Street, one of the courts of the NYBF.

Northbound F: Parsons Boulevard, heart of Jamaica.

Southbound F: Coney Island, home of the deadly Hell Hole and the mindbending bumper car disco.

J: Woodhaven, an area known to feast on the lost off of the subway.

L: The train is a trap in itself. It arrives with lesbian couples and as the doors open they are all kissing passionately. Any woman who feels any attraction is turned on and boards. Those who are repulsed just hide lest they fall under demonic mind control that can warp women into fellow lesbians and men into perverted fantasies of girl-on-girl action. As the train leaves, the couples express themselves more freely, further awakening those who have lesbian inclinations. In the tunnel between Manhattan and Brooklyn the train stops and the train turns into a near orgy. Those who have realized any lesbian inclinations have found a partner and joined in, while any men or women who are repelled run to the last two cars, which are empty and unhitched and driven back to Times Square, while the train then takes its cargo home to Park Slope. It has been almost unsuccessful in awakening new lesbians but is very effective in rescuing lesbian New Yorkers starting to go under. Plus, hey, it's a great mixer, or a way to put the fire back in a stalled relationship.

Northbound N: 57th and 7th, the former home of the Amazons. During this time of the night, the Amazons return to their stomping grounds, seditious and inflammatory text in hand.

Southbound N: Stops at Atlantic/Pacific and Coney Island.

Northbound R: Queens Plaza, the home of Our Lady of the Lilies, prostitution capital of New York.

Southbound R: 8th Street, home of NYU. Tourists tend to freak out at the happy gay couples.

Northbound V: Roosevelt Island, the home of the incurably insane. While most tourists escape on the tram, the mere presence of these madmen and women is enough to make even the ultimate Channel 1 person doubt God.

Southbound V: 2nd Avenue, the heart of the bargain district and a hot spot for the Street Merchants Union.

Northbound 1: Columbus Circle, home of the Ames Mall, followed by 79th Street, home of the First Baptist Church. The first empties their wallets, the second fills their souls.

Southbound 1: The train cannonballs at high speed toward South Ferry before stopping short just to scare the brainwashed before they return to their hotels near Ground Zero.

Northbound 2: The Bronx Zoo, where not every attraction is animal.

Southbound 2: Flatbush Avenue, a favorite tourist trap among the Brooklynites.

Northbound 3: 72nd Street, home of the Refuge and occasional shooting range of the Gray Lady.

Southbound 3: Fulton Mall, Which is outdoors and sells all sorts of junk from the Street Merchants Union.

Northbound 4: Fordham University, where the subway station doubles as a shooting range.

Southbound 4: Brooklyn Museum, which is a multicultural education for tourists.

Northbound 5: Grand Concourse, barrio de Los Metros.

Southbound 5: Flatbush Avenue.

Northbound 6: 125th Street, but the less... friendly... side of town.

Southbound 6: The technologically enhanced cars given to New York by the government for the 2012 Olympics are on this line. Meant to broadcast Britney underground, they now broadcast Jennifer, the Salsa Seductress, who gyrates away, locking the brainwashed into their customary mindless and empty gaze. The footage quickly fades as the train runs local to the more youthful and vibrant Jennifer who builds up the sexual energy on the train. Slowly the parents and young children get off, not knowing where they are, while the hold over the teenagers and college students tightens as her movements become racier. The train finally stops at Webster Hall. The images continue through the line into the club, where the young men and women are then drugged by free, fancy beverages once inside, breaking any chains put on them by Britney. Free, their urges take them over, leaving them either free couples or disgraced and sullen brainwashed.

7: The train runs on a continuous loop from Times Square to Flushing. Each car has two gay men who lament about AIDS, a teenage girl wearing an empathy belly, fat black people who act like monkeys, and 3 members of Los Metros who always speak Spanish, all complainign that they are riding through Beirut. The mental pressure of this further deepens Britney's hold, but the purpose is not to break the spell, but to keep tourists out of their home.

The subway is almost never ridden by tourists but still they manage to torture a good 50,000 tourists a year.

March along a few blocks to the sides of Times Square and you have Schubert Alley. The night performances are true works of performing art put on by the Thespians Union, meant for all New York to enjoy. They're fresh and new pieces, mixed with carefully selected revivals, meant to entertain the New Yorkers and keep one tradition of New York alive.

However, the matinee performances are another story. They are carefully crafted with intimate knowledge of Britney. Almost all members of the Thespians Union were enamored with, courted by, and even touched Britney but were able to escape before she led them into her bedroom to inject her soul in their bodies, never to know any other life but her own. Be it because of their inability to deny their own homosexuality or their hidden wisdom that alerted them to their grave peril, the leaders of the Thespians are the most knowledgable about Britney but most do not let on to this secret.

Each matinee is performed to deprogram, confuse, or otherwise awaken the brainwashed. Some theatres, like the Gershwin, show plays that mimic channel 1 stories but give the opposite message. Others use puppet shows to break the loose bonds on children, leaving their parents to be constantly pestered by questions they do not know the answer to. Still others tell tales of New York, further confusing the brainwashed.

Moving down, there is the Marquis Hotel, home to many brainwashed. Around here congregate many members of the Street Merchants Union. Aside from the various junk they sell, they also play New York Rules poker that includes winning hands that reflect the city's gay heritage, three-card monte, and direct the brainwashed to the comedy clubs where the unknowing fools are the butt of all the jokes (or if it's in the Village, just the butt).

In the center island is the TKTS line, a haven of the Thespians Union which lures in the brainwashed with cut-rate tickets to the union's shows. At night it is a place where most New Yorkers get their tickets.

Directly across from the hotel is the Virgin Store. This is the Times Square outpost and training camp of Our Lady of the Lilies. Here, young sirens in training dance and entice young men who are drawn in by the Channel 1 music playing outside. The proprietor is someone whose mere name will send any brainwashed crashing to their knees in submission to the grand master of America. This is despite being 6'4", pitch black, and often dressed plainly just to prove a point to her charges. The young sirens all dress like what you would see on television, and share the names of everyone on the television's roster, risking life and mind to grab the revealing tops and shorts of the Channel 1 woman from the New Jersey malls. They slowly learn their tools of seduction and draw the men deeper into their sexual webs. By the time they are ready the men have long since paid thrice. A siren in training leads her victim back to his own hotel room across the street, where their acts are recorded by a secret camera and loaded onto the television as the first thing the wife sees.

Next door to the Virgin Store is the Hollywood Grill, where the Thespians Union holds its offices and entices the brainwashed into watching television from the days before Britney, complete with their messages of freedom.

Down 7th Avenue is the parade of strip joints that are used at night by the New Yorkers. During the day it's used as a "Dance like Britney" tourist trap, showing American teens how to use their bodies to get whatever they want. The empowerment of women, despite being poorly populated, is actually one of the most effective tourist traps in New York.

Down Broadway is the cavalcade of tour buses run by the Taxi and Limousine Commission. These buses come with seat belts; those who don't use them are known as suicidal.

By 50th St is the corner of the mad, where the Amazons set up shop distributing flyers declaring Britney as gay. Also there is the row of Chinese resturants that is disguised by blinding lights, known as the best cuisine in New York. In the pit alongside the sidewalk is the Martian restuarant where the brainwashed are led in and told tales that we are not alone. This is the headquarters of the Comic Book Heroes, a small group of people who believe in things the way they are presented in comic books. They also are responsible for spreading the word of the Gray Lady and other resistance heroes.

Last and furthest away from the core of things is the Times Square Church. This is the headquarters of the humanitarian unit of the cult of Our Lady. Known as the Zookeepers, they educate confused brainwashed breaking out, feed the mad, care for those who have lost their minds, and supply those who have resorted to violence.
