Things to note about the Utopia universe:
-All San Antonio transactions after the 2006 season are voided, with the exception of the Becky Hammon-Jessica Davenport trade. The Riley-Feenstra deal never goes down, Chantelle Anderson does not go to the Dream, and Marie Ferdinand-Harris does not go to the Sparks.
-All New York transactions after the beginning of the 2007 season are voided. Sherill Baker is never traded to Los Angeles, Barbara Farris does not go to Phoenix. New York goes into the 2007 season with 11 players, subtracting Martina Weber and Lindsay Bowen from the opening day roster.
-The Douglas-Whitmore trade is proposed by the Fever, not by Douglas, and Douglas vetoes the trade.
-Seattle, Minnesota, and Connecticut orchestrate a three-way deal that sends Sue Bird to the Sun, Lindsay Whalen to the Lynx, and the third overall pick to the Storm. Seattle then sends the third pick to Detroit in exchange for Swin Cash. All transactions after 3/7/2008 are voided for these three teams unless otherwise stated. We do, however, acknowledge Yolanda Griffith to Seattle and the Barbara Turner/Megan Mahoney deal.
-Atlanta does not successfully earn the privilege of selecting a UFA in the expansion draft. Their selection from Seattle is Iziane Castro Marques, leaving Betty Lennox on the Storm; their selection from San Antonio is the rights to Agnieska Bibrzycka; their selection from Detroit is Ivory Latta, with no trade required to get her. Their selection from Indiana is still Ann Strother, but they send her to Connecticut for the Sun's second-round pick. Atlanta retains the fourth pick in the draft.
-Kara Lawson's mysterious fatigue crops up again, forcing her retirement and entry to the studio before the 2008 season.
-Mwadi Mabika retires instead of going to Houston, but that's okay, because Swoopes doesn't sign with the Storm.
-Still working out draft changes, but Candice Wiggins still goes third, just to Detroit instead of Minnesota. Since Atlanta and Indiana never traded their picks, the board would look quite different.
