Alone in shadows, where I do belong

Shadows constantly surround me, safe and cold
Always aware of the death I enfold
An old woman, hidden within a young girl
Hiding before the sun gathers it's rays to hurl
This body seems so little and weak
It holds great knowledge and strength from which only a few may seek
Shadows hide me securely, I have forgotten light
Safer in the darkness than the revealing bright
I walk among children, so innocent and young
They have no idea what torments can be sprung
From the depths of hell and the sorrows of the gallows
I am hidden completely, within the frigid shadows
