The
Triple War Goddess
Her name
is Fea, “the hateful”, or Badb, “the fury”. She
is the battle goddess who gathers the heads of her victims
for her “acorn crop”.She is the triple Goddess of war, and
was also associated with sovereignty. She was very powerful, and also responsible
for hoosingwho will die in battle. For
the Iron Age Celts, he chose who would
pass into the “other world”. One legend suggests
that she appeared as a maiden, ringing
out the blood from the clothing worn by the
hero who was doomed to die that day. |

Brigit
(Brigid)
The Irish
Goddess of fire and poetry. The Roman translation of her name is
Minerva. To the Greeks, she was Athena.
She is the most loved of all deities. Candlemas
is held in her honor today. She is the only
pagan Goddess to survive as one of the Christian
patriotic saints of Ancient Britain (she
was canonized as Saint Brigid). She is fertile, and assists in
the childbirth of animals and humans. Her Christian interpretation
casts her as a midwife of Christ. |

A Welsh
Goddess, the wife of Pwyll. She is one of
the Goddess' associated with the Underworld. She is the great Goddess with
whom Pwyll is joined as a sacred King. |
