In late February, the Boys were running through a rehearsal for the European tour. It was around 10:45 am when AJ received a phone call from Kat. “AJ, Jessie’s in the hospital.”
Alex’s world tilted & went black. Howie & Brian caught him around the waist before he hit the floor; Kevin grabbed the phone before it fell from his limp hand. “Hello?” Kevin answered.
“Oh, Kev, you guys need to get AJ to Orlando Regional Medical.”
“What’s happened, Kat?” Kevin asked, trying to stay calm.
“It’s Jessie,” was all she was able to say.
“We’re on our way.”

At 10:30 am, Jessica, Vivian and Kat had been at the house eating a late breakfast and getting ready to go out for a day of shopping. Jessie had walked over to the sink to rinse the three plates & glasses when a sharp pain hit. The pain had been so sudden & sharp, she gasped and collapsed to her knees.
“Jess! My GOD, what’s wrong?” Kat screamed as she ran to her friend’s side.
“I don’t know, Kat. Oh, Gods, this hurts!” she cried, gasping for a full breath.
Viv was already on the phone with 911.
Ten minutes later, Jessie was being quickly & carefully loaded onto the ambulance, Vivian riding with her, Kat following in her car. She called AJ’s cell phone, praying that he would actually be able to hear it.

It was devastating news for all to hear. Jessie had been almost 2 months pregnant when she had suffered a miscarriage.
“At least it didn’t happen while you were in Europe, Alex,” she tried to convince her husband.
“I know,” he said quietly, through his tears. He had refused to leave her bedside, and had not let go of her hand since he arrived at the hospital. He could tell she was fighting sleep; the doctor had given her a heavy dose of a sedative so she could give her body a rest. “Sleep, sweetheart; I’m not gonna leave you, I promise. I’ll be here when you wake up.”
He gently brushed a few long, dark strands of hair away from her face as she closed her eyes, giving in to the effects of the medicine.

The European tour was going to be eight weeks. It was decided that Jessie, Viv & Kat would stay with Denise, so that Jessie could recover with her friends close by.
AJ called every day to check on her. She reassured him constantly that she was better everyday, he didn’t need his worry to affect his performances.
He would also talk briefly to his mother, who also assured him that Jessie was in good hands. “Just take care, Alex. Don’t worry about a thing, she’s fine & recovering nicely. She may even have a clean bill health by the time you get home. Just keep your mind on the tour, Hon. We’ll see you Boys soon. We love you!”
