Chapter 5

The kiss immediately deepened, surprising both of them. Kevin slowly broke the kiss, looking into Morgan’s deep blue eyes. “Sorry,” he said his voice husky with passion.

“Wow. Why did you stop?” she asked with a slight smile.

“I think it would be better if we stopped for now. I don’t want us regretting anything by moving too fast,” he said in her ear. He led her off the dance floor and towards an empty table next to the wall.

“What would you think worse? Doing something you would regret, or regretting you didn’t do something?” she asked him when they reached the table.

He sat in a chair, pulling her down on his lap. He answered her question by wrapping his arms around her and giving her another deep, passionate kiss.

She wrapped one arm around his neck, her fingers entwining in his shoulder-length hair, her other hand resting on his chest. She felt one of his hands settle low on her hip, his other hand moving up her back.

The mood was suddenly broken when Kris came up to them. “Morgan, Tessa just called Calvin. He saw me first & told me to tell you that Tessa needs you to come home – now! He said she seemed upset.”

“Damn!” Morgan said, sighing, getting out of Kevin’s lap. “ Her cold must be getting worse.” She looked at Kevin, saying, “I’m sorry, but I have to go home & check on Tessa.”

“That’s ok. I understand,” he said, standing with her, his arm still around her waist.

Kris told them that the rest of the guys had decided to call it a night, since the next day was going to be busy. “We’ll drop you off at the apartment, Morgan.”

“Ok, thanks,” she said, a little distractedly, as they walked out to the limo.

Five minutes later, the limo pulled up to the front of Morgan’s shop. Kevin got out of the limo with Morgan, walking her to the side gate that led to her private courtyard. “You said you were coming to the show tomorrow night, right?”

“Yes, we’re still going.”

“Great!” he smiled down at her, then gave her a gentle kiss. “Goodnight, Morgan.”

“Goodnight, Kevin,” she said quietly, then turned to go upstairs to Tessa.
