Mayor Richard Wilkins III is one of the best villans to ever go up aginst Buffy, in my opinion. He first appeared in "Homecoming" with Mr. Trick to try to get rid of buffy. This was a very important year for the mayor, he was preparing to ascend to a full demon form at Graduation. He performed a ritual when he was human so that he can not be killed by any means (even having his head chopped open with an axe!!) but once he ascends he can be killed. He had originally recuited Mr. Trick to help him in his endeavors but Faith dusted him and went to the Mayors office looking to team up. The Mayor had a very interesting relationship with Faith, and has a fatherly love towards her. Buffy eventually used that against him once he ascended to full demon-hood (is that a word?). She lured him into the Sunnydale High library which, unknowing to him, was filled with explosives. He chased her in and BOOM! no more Mayor or Sunnydale High. A tidbit about The Mayor that was actually quite amusing was his absoloute horror of germs. He was a demon that couldn't be killed and was terrified of anything unclean.

Mayor: No Slayer of mine is gonna live in a fleabag hotel. That place has a very unsavory reputation. There are immoral liaisons going on there.
Faith: Yeah, plus all the screwing.

Mayor: I like good, positive, up thoughts. If you fail me in that way. Well, you know, replacing Mr. Trick was chore enough. Oh, come on, don't worry. Drink up. There's nothing uncool about healthy teeth and bones.

Mayor: The beast will walk upon the earth and darkness will follow. The several races of man will be as one in their terror and destruction. Aww, that's kinda sweet! Different races coming together.

Mayor: Gosh I'm feeling perky! Who's for a root beer??
