"But, what IS the AASC?" You wonder, curiously. And who could blame you? Rule number one of the AASC: You don't talk about the AASC, but today we're going nuts and breaking all the rules. Anarchy! The AASC is a little group of crazy Spike fans who got together about two years ago. The group counts 23 members, all hand picked for quality and freshness. We'd had enough of message boards and their unavoidable snerts who were constantly troubling our peace. So we created our own private society where we can discuss everything freely. Recently, one of our founding member, Robbie, started working on putting together the first ever BtvS/AtS convention in the Detroit area. Thanks to her hard work, this project is now reality. On the weekend of June 3-5, 2005, hard core Buffy fans from United States, Canada, and possibly, the world, will be invading Detroit to meet their favorite Buffy stars. But first, we wanted you to have a chance to meet the members of the All About Spike Club and get to know them better.
OUR MEMBERS:
Became a Buffy fan at the age of thirtysomething, after swearing that I'd never watch that "kid's show"! Soon became a loyal fan of James Marsters, and even more so after having two private signings with him. Have attended two conventions, the second one inspiring me to try and promote one myself. With the help of my husband, an awesome consultant, and this group, it looks like a reality. However, my family is my real pride and joy. Aside from being addicted to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Spike, I'm a complete Tomb Raider junkie. When I'm not writing original work or fanfic, I'm spending time teaching my son. As Buffy once said, homeschooling isn't just for scary religious people anymore. We have a pet rabbit, and now I realize that she and Izzy must never meet or Harvey might just end up on the altar. Yes, she is a girl rabbit named Harvey. My two favorite characters from Buffy would be Spike, obviously, and Tara. It's hard not to like someone who's decent to everyone including the evil undead. Website I couldn't live without:Missives from the Hellmouth In my religion, three Gods are being worshipped: James Marsters, Joss Whedon and Quentin Tarantino. These three men make the world a better place, so they deserve sacrifices and offerings, right? That's why I keep bunnies around my house. What? Lambs are way too cute to be sacrificed. All right, besides saying weird stuff, I also write fanfic, read fanfic (Hi, my name is Isabel and I am addicted to fanfiction) and if I have time left, I study acting. I'm also very pathetic and haven't got over the end of BtVS yet. I even have a voodoo doll of Sarah... Yeah, huh, never mind that ;-) JK. I still love Sarah. My Website:Tales from the Hellmouth Website I couldn't live without:The Spuffy Realm I was born more years ago than I would like to admit. Therefore, I won't. I am 29...again. I love the Buffyverse and am quite fond of James Marsters. I love to write and cause chaos in the universe. Turn ons...chocolate, Spike, Spike, and more chocolate. Turn offs...Stakes and um, stupidity. Looking forward to meeting all my Buffy pals in June 2005. Website I couldn't live without:Fanfiction.net Concieved during an unfortunate episode of unprotected sex, Fenster was born in 1960 and spent his childhood in Mississippi. This was considered by the Gods to be insufficient payment for the karmic debt that Fenster had accumulated in past lives, so they caused his family to be transported to Louisiana. Fenster spent the next 15 years trying to survive Louisiana's educational system, and in 1983, despite fierce opposition from the faculty, he recieved a BFA in painting from Northeast Louisiana University. In that same year he moved to Memphis where he squandered his youth working as a graphic artist and trying to prove the existance of gay Amish, He now works as a publicist and spends his days annoying people he doesn't know. A court order prevents him from having a live journal. Website I couldn't live without:Movie Poop Shoot Well, I do believe that I am the youngest AASC member, being 16 years old. I'm going to FINALLY be graduating in 2006. I've lived in the sole-most boring town in Massachusetts my entire life. Sad, I know. I'm such a townie. I spend my days taking lots of pictures. I love photography. Recently my longest pet ran away. I had him for almost 6 months. He was a good fish. I miss him. Im a vegetarian because I dislike the taste of meat. I work at a hardware store. Don't ask me what anything is. I think I said more cuss words then I ever thought I knew when I found out Angel was canceled. WB can suck my mule and choke on it. Yes I am bitter. And I cried when Anya died. Her and I had that Bunny phobia bond going on. Website I couldn't live without:Big Bunny.com I was going to try to do something clever with Frost's "The Road Not Taken", given my character's background, but I realized the "crap, how did I get here?" vibe was much more accurate. I was born nearly 50 years ago, survived the first 18 and goofed off for most of the next 32. I've always had a passion for reading but it took becoming a fan of BtVS to discover my calling -- editing what other people write. This is something I do purely for fun, and a great deal of fun it is. Website I could't live without: The BTVS writers' guild Merrin's days are spent being ordered around by a two-year-old. That's why she spends her nights on the internet, looking for escape. It's also why she speaks of herself in the third person. Her BtVS loves include: Spike, 'Crush', and 'Once More with Feeling'. She will argue with the common wisdom over the 'season six plot twist which shall not be named', and has somewhat of a liking for season seven, which makes her controversial in some quarters, which Merrin enjoys, not ever having been a bit controversial in her entire life. Website I couldn't live without:Whedonesque Born in Colorado and raised by wolves. Well not technically... my brothers eat like wolves though. I'm 22 (well not yet but I will august 28th so we'll just put that) and I study old and dead things (anthropology and classics). My true dream is to be part of the fabulous world of celebrities- writing, acting, singing- I can do it all, or at least I'd like to think so. Website I couldn't live without:Quizilla.com I have no idea who I am. I need to go on a journey to find myself except I have way too much work to do.
