It's so good to be green!
Mid-Ohio Convention
November 29th-31st
And.... I did it again. I went to another convention. But a very, very quiet one this time. No James Marsters insanity. My friend Charma and I just wanted to go say hello to Andy and James Leary. Alright, just so this is clear and I don't have to say his last name all the time, on this page, when I say "James", I mean James Leary. If I mention James Marsters, and I don't think I will because he wasn't there, I'll say his last name to avoid confusion. So now that I clarified this, let's move on.
James Leary and me at the Karaoke party
The convention was in Columbus, which is only half and hour away from my friend's place so I decided that since I missed her and wanted to visit her anyway, might as well make it a convention weekend. The convention itself was a little boring but we didn't mind because it gave us more time to hang out with the Buffy boys. I haven't mentioned Mark Lutz yet because to be honest, we didn't really care at first that he would be there. We didn't know him at all and I wasn't a fan. But he turned out to be a really nice guy, funny as hell and... surprisingly hot in person. I never really found him that good looking on Angel. Must be the black contact lenses and the long hair. All this to say that I'll be looking forward to seeing him at other conventions. What was I saying? Oh yeah, the convention was boring because it wasn't a Buffy con, it was a comic book/sci-fi shows con. Which I'm not really interested in to start with and Charma wasn't either. The people attending were nice, but there wasn't much to look at if you don't like comic books.
There was very little Buffy stuff and only one Q&A and the Q&A was with all the of guys together. And it had absolutely nothing to do with a Q&A at a Buffy con with a thousand people crammed in a room and everybody fighting to ask questions. But the guys were entertaining. I don't have any pictures of that because the stupid battery in my camera was DEAD. Which led to much running around to try to find a store that sell battery. Can you believe that a huge mall wouldn't have not even one tiny little battery for sale? Well you better believe it cause we looked everywhere and didn't find anything. We had to take the car and drive to a Radio shack. Sorry for boring you with my little story, but I still can't believe it. It's alright though because there was nothing to miss at the con. It just gave James a little break from us :-)
We caught all the boys together. Wasn't easy, don't try this at home!
Later on, James convinced us to go watch his movie "Stunt cocks". It was actually pretty funny. We didn't get to see it in Tampa but heard a lot about it and we were curious. Not something I would show my mother, but still really funny. Now that he told us he used Cetaphil for the cum shot, I don't think I'll ever look at that facial cleanser the same way again. Every time I go to the pharmacy, I can't help but look at it on the shelf and giggle like a moron. The funniest part was when Charma raised her hand and told him that he should have used a mix of corn syrup and powdered sugar because it's cheap and it looks real. He really wanted to know how she knew that. Oh, you wanna know too? Forget it. he he.
James being silly
In the evening, Andy was hosting a Karaoke party for some charity. Diabetes I think. It cost 5$ to get in, and all the money was going to charity. We had a blast. Andy got Charma to break the ice again! lol Poor girl! He did that to her the last time in Tampa. I sang to, believe it or not. I'm definitely not the greatest singer of all times, but at least I didn't make an ass of myself. That's all I wanted, really. He sang a little bit of "Michelle" by the Beatles using my name for my introduction. Michelle, Isabel, same thing :-)
Charma got to break the ice
Another great moment was when this girl walked up to the stage and said she was gonna sing Lady Marmalade and wanted Andy to do the background vocals. She looked like nothing. Short girl in jeans and ponytail. We thought she just wanted to impress Andy. Oh. My. God. That girl had the most amazing voice!! My jaw dropped. She would have put Patty Labelle to shame. And Andy... Honest to God, I've never seen a boy that happy ever in my life. It was like watching the Las Vegas episode live, but without the green make-up.

Charma and I danced with Mark Lutz for a while and had a blast. Someone took a picture of that but we didn't see who so we'll probably never see it. And by the way, if you're the person who took the picture, could you please, PLEASE, email me? I'd really like to see it.
James Leary, the soup guy and two other guys getting down and dirty on the dance floor :-)
So we went back to the hotel on Sunday because I hadn't had my autograph of Andy and I promised my friend that I would get her one. But we knew that there wouldn't be anything interesting. We talked to the guys for a little bit, convinced them to take a picture, and they left. Now, we don't want to start anything with those group pictures. It's not something they usually do so if next convention, everybody start asking them for group pictures, they'll get mad at us. At the con, someone saw us taking the picture and asked for one too and you could tell that they didn't want to start doing this.
What did that Mark Lutz say that cracked everybody up again?..
So that's it. It was a fun weekend and I'm glad we went. It gave me a chance to see my friend and really cool actors. By the way, I told James that they should get Clem on Angel because Spike is in desperate need of a friend right now, and he enthusiastically agreed with me. So lets hope Joss has a sudden inspiration and give him a call. I do have my green demon and my sexy vampire, but I also miss my little floppy ear demon. :-(
Til next time...
Isabel
P.S. There's more pictures to come, but my scanner just decided that our relashionship has lasted long enough. Maybe if I'm nice enough it will come back to me, but I think I'll have more success after a trip to the computer doctor. :-( Stupid scanner.
