Quidditch Rules
The Quidditch rules are being worked on, but here’s what we’ve got now. As of now, there will be a players-only message board that can be viewed by everyone but only posted on by players. The players can communicate there to help each other in scoring points. The way to earn points is to find the hidden links all over the pages (they won’t be too hard to find), and click on them. The links will go to a page that has a trivia question as well as a name on it. The name, for example, is “Hufflepuff Seeker,” which indicates that only the Hufflepuff Seeker may answer this question. The Hufflepuff Seeker can go to their board and ask for help, or they can send in the question. Other Quidditch players, and no one else, may give help.
The seeker will get 150 points for answering their question, the beaters will each gain 15 points per question for their team, the keeper will gain 25 points per question for their team, and the chasers will gain 10 points per question for their team. The chasers and beaters can work together in that they can all answer the questions meant for their positions. However, they should communicate. If two answers are given for one question, the question will not count, unless they are sent within the same five minutes or so, in which case the first will be accepted. There will be one question for the seeker, two for the keeper, three for the beaters, and five for the chasers. Any resources may be used to answer the questions. All questions will be made up and then assigned to the houses by a random roll of the dice, so no house will be favored by different questions.
To summarize, the jobs of each member on the team:
CHASERS: must communicate with each other to find all five links intended for the chasers of their house, and must come up with one answer to each question. They may use any resources they wish. They will gain 10 points for their team for every question answered correctly. They may post on the team message board for help, and may give help to their team.
BEATERS: must communicate with each other to find all three links intended for the beaters of their house, and must come up with one answer to each question. They may use any resources they wish. They will gain 15 points for their team for every question answered correctly. They may post on the team message board for help, and may give help to their team.
KEEPER: The keeper must find the two links intended for them and come up with an answer to each of the questions. Each correct answer will get them 25 points for their team. They may post on the team message board for help, and may give help to their team.
SEEKER: The seeker must find the link intended for them and come up with an answer to the question. This will be the most difficult question of them all. The correct answer will get them 150 points for their team. They may post on the team message board for help, and may give help to their team.
To be on your house team, e-mail your head of house, whose e-mail can be found in your common room. They will give you further instructions.
