Rez was once a childhood friend of Ren Rosso, but due to an early atempt to kill ren by Project Phoenix and he was killed saving ren's life. He was reincarnated as a DemiGod Guardian, whose job was to protect certain people on the earth.
Later, Rez and his superior, Seto Lingod, suspected that Ren had been killed and set about a plan to replace him. This plan, which later got Lingod into VERY hot water with the DemiGod council, eventually produced Viper.
