About The Author

Charlene Krentz is a proud resident of Washington State. Creating stories has been a life-long passion for her since early childhood, when she and her cousins would go on imaginary adventures at their grandparents’ home every summer. At home in Benton City Washington, she would act out her stories with her toys. She was raised by her single mother, Vanessa, after the death of her biological father, Michael from colon cancer. The family moved to Yakima Washington after Vanessa married Richard Gimlin in 1991. The couple has three children; Aaron, Hannah and Aric, who are some of Charlene’s most beloved fans.

Charlene wrote her first novels, a science fiction comedy called The Visitor and a contemporary drama called Tubman High vs. Washington D.C, in high school. Although neither was ever published, she gained valuable experience in writing them. Her first fantasy short story, Fire and Twilight, was published in the e-magazine Sword’s Edge in 2004. She has many people to thank for helping her to polish her writing over the years; particularly her high school counselor Steve Scott, college professors Shannon Hopkins and Cynthia Mitchell , and paternal step-grandmother and romance novelist Jayne Ann Krentz.

In 2004, Charlene gave her life to Christ after growing up in a Christian home and being strongly influenced and supported through life’s trials by Christian friends and ministers from local churches and Campus Crusade for Christ.

In 2002, Charlene proudly carried the Olympic flame as it wound its way through Washington on its way to the Winter Games in Salt Lake City. In 2007, she graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. Currently, she is hard at work on the second book in The Lundari Witch series and hopes to have it finished soon.

When not writing, Charlene swaps fantasy books with boyfriend Ed and can be found curled up on the couch in front of a good action, comedy and/or fantasy movie or anime. In 2007, they were lucky enough to go to the world premiere of one of their favorite movies Pirates of the Caribbean: At world’s End.
