DS Night Before Christmas
by: aesgaard
Twas the night before Christmas and all through Collinwood,
Not a spirit was stirring, not that they should.
The stockings were hung on the fireplace by spells,
Decorated with holly and ribbons and enchanted copper bells.
The Collins were all nestled all snuggled in their rooms,
while visions of ghosts and witches flew by on brooms.
And Liz in her kerchief and Roger trying to be merry
Had just settled down after drinking all the sherry.
When out on the estate there arose such a disturbance,
Barnabus tore from his bed just to get a glance.
Away to the window he tripped over Angelique's cats,
Tore open the shutter and scared several bats.
The moon shone on the surface of the newly fallen snow
And decorated the Old House with an eerie ghostly glow.
When what to his wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature sleigh and eight flying reindeer.
With Santa Claus coming no one could be worse off.
He knew in a moment he could take the curse off.
More rapid than ghosts his reindeers they flew,
As he called and commanded them on cue.
"On Gerard and Roxanne, And Desmond and Charity,
"On Quentin and Magda, And Lamar and Purity."
To the top of the Old House, To the top of Widow's Peak,
Let's make it now before the end of the week.
Like vampire bats against the nightime sky,
They glided and soared until they did fly.
Rush to the roof flew the jolly old elf
With a weaving old sleigh and Santa himself.
And then in a moment Barnabus heard moans in the night.
As Santa did enter, did the ghosts meet his sight.
He drew back his head and scratched his snowy beard,
"Flying reindeer and elves I'm used to, but this is way too wierd."
The ghosts were in white from their heads to their feet.
Finding gifts for dead Collins was to be no easy feat.
He gave it a shot and dropped his big sack.
The ghosts all gathered around and muffled the impact.
Josette got a new dress and Jeremiah did rave,
And Trask crowded in too promising to behave.
Sarah was promised to be given new life,
As Angelique asked in turn to be Barnabus's wife.
The Widows were given a new singing lesson,
As Blair and Stiles were left guessin'
More clothes for Carolyn and to David his own car,
For Maggie fancy new dresses and Quentin his own bar.
To Roger he recieved his own portrait on the wall.
Perfume for Liz and less bloopers for all.
And Barnabus did ask for his curse to be removed,
And Santa did realize it'd have to be unglued.
Barnabus turned to the mirror as he became human all right,
"Merry Christmas To All, And To All A Good Night !!"
