Size: 15 cm long including tail
Lifespan: 1-3 years
Natural range: southern Africa

Housing

• aquarium with mesh lid is best
• allow at least 5 gal for each mouse
• these mice are very territorial and should be housed individually
• Bedding: aspen or reptile sand
• Accessories: wheel, branches, hideaway, tubes, chews

Food

• mixture of quality rodent blocks, commercial rodent seed mix and timothy hay
• fruits, veggies or mealworms weekly

Breeding

• Maturity: 5 weeks old
• Gestation: 20-21 days
• Litter size: 2-6
• will have fur and open eyes a few days after birth
• young are weaned at 4 weeks when the mother chases them off from the nest
