Natural range: West Africa

Housing

• aquarium with mesh lid is best
• allow 10gal per pair
• they are very social and should be kept in same sex pairs or groups
• Bedding: aspen
• Accessories: wheel, hideaway, wood chews, branches, tubes

Food

• mixture of high quality commercial seed mix, cat kibble and rodent blocks
• dried fruit and/or nuts weekly
• occassional fresh fruits and vegetables

Breeding

• Maturity: 2 months old
• Gestation: 25 days
• Litter size: 1-5
• start handling from about 3 weeks old to prevent biting tendencies
• should be weaned by 5 weeks old
