Common or Hazel Dormouse

Size: 11-13cm long including tail
Lifespan: 4-6 years
Natural range: throughout Europe to southern Scandinavia

Housing

• aquarium with a wire mesh lid is best
• allow 10gal per pair
• can be housed in same sex pairs if introduced at a young age
• Bedding: aspen
• Accessories: nest box, wheel, tubes, branches, wood chews

Food

• feed a mixture of a high quality small parrot mix, rodent blocks and kitten kibble
• fresh fruits or veggies weekly

Breeding

• Maturity: 3 months old
• Gestation: 22-24 days
• Litter size: 1-6
• eyes open at about 18 days old
• should be fully weaned by 5 weeks old
