Natural Range; arid regions of Siberia, Mongolia, Manchuria and northern China

Housing

• aquarium with mesh lid is best
• allow at least 10gal per trio
• they can be kept in same sex pairs if introduced at a young age
• Bedding: aspen
• Accessories: wheel, tubes, hideaway, wood chews

Food

• mixture of high quality commercial seed mix and rodent blocks
• timothy hay weekly
• occassional fruits and vegetables

Breeding

• Maturity: 6 weeks old
• Gestation: 21 days
• Litter size: 2-8
• breeding pairs or trios should be introduced young to prevent aggression
• do not disturb nest for first 10 days
• pups should be fully weaned at a month old
