Dzungorian Hamster, or Winter White
This unique species of dwarf hamster gets it's nickname of the 'winter white' hamster for the ability to turn white in the winter. In captivity they usually need some exposure to natural light for this to occur.

Size: 7-12cm long
Lifespan: 3-4 years
Natural range: East Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Manchuria and Southwest Siberia
Housing
- aquarium with mesh lid is best
- allow at least 10gal per trio
- can be kept in same sex pairs or groups if introduced at a young age
- Bedding: aspen
- Accessories: wheel, hideaways, tubes, wood chew
Food
- high quality commercial rodent seed mix and rodent blocks
- fresh fruit or veggies weekly
- occassional cat kibble for extra protein

- Maturity: 2 months old
- Gestation: 19-25 days
- Litter size: 4-8
- eyes open at about 10 days old
- should be fully weaned by 4 weeks old
