Edible Dormouse

Housing

• large rat-type cage with thin bar spacing or aquarium with wire mesh lid
• allow 50gal per pair
• females are social and can be housed in groups or pairs
• males are territorial with one another and should be housed individually
• Bedding: aspen
• Accessories: rat wheel, branches, tubes, nest box, wood chews

Food

• mixture of rodent blocks, large parrot mix with nuts and dried fruit and kitten kibble
• fresh fruits or veggies weekly
• occassional cricket or mealworm

Breeding

• Maturity: 1-2 years old
• Gestation: 22-27 days
• Litter size: 2-10
• eyes open at about 20 days old
• should be fully weaned by 5-6 weeks old
