Housing
- large rat-type cage with thin bar spacing or aquarium with wire mesh lid
- allow 50gal per pair
- females are social and can be housed in groups or pairs
- males are territorial with one another and should be housed individually
- Bedding: aspen
- Accessories: rat wheel, branches, tubes, nest box, wood chews
Food
- mixture of rodent blocks, large parrot mix with nuts and dried fruit and kitten kibble
- fresh fruits or veggies weekly
- occassional cricket or mealworm
Breeding
- Maturity: 1-2 years old
- Gestation: 22-27 days
- Litter size: 2-10
- eyes open at about 20 days old
- should be fully weaned by 5-6 weeks old
