Housing
- aquarium with fine mesh screen lid is best
- allow at least 20gal per trio
- females are social and can be kept in small groups or pairs
- males can be territorial
- Bedding: a mixture of chinchilla dust and fine white reptile sand
- Accessories: small soild wheel, nest box, hideaways, tubes
Food
- feed a mixture of high quality finch and canary seed mix and some crushed rodent block
- allow free access to timothy hay for nibbling and nesting
Breeding
- Maturity: 3-5 months old
- Gestation: 21-24 days
- Litter size: 2-5
- eyes open around 12 days old
- should be fully weaned by 5-6 weeks old
