Size: 30-35cm long including tail

Natural range: throughout arid regions of North America

Housing

• a large plexiglass or glass enclosure would be best
• should be about 1m long by 50cm wide for one
• territorial and should be housed individually
• Bedding: aspen
• Accessories: nest box, tubes, chinchilla dust bath, wood chews

Food

• feed a high quality rodent seed mix
• allow free access to timothy hay and other dried greens
• small piece of fresh fruit or veggie twice weekly
• do not offer water, they will get all the moisture they need from fresh fruit or veggies

Breeding

• Maturity: 2-3 months old
• Gestation: 28-32 days
• Litter size: 2-5
• should be weaned by 5-6 weeks old
