Zebra Mouse
These unique and striking mice have good temperments and shouldn't mind being handled if they were properly socialized and make them good pets for the experienced hobbyist. They have very delicate tails and should never be picked up by them. They have rabbit-like back feet allowing them to jump very well.

Housing
- aquarium with mesh lid is best
- allow 10 gal per mouse
- escape-proof cage with coated wire can also be used
- these mice are generally territorial and should be housed alone
- sometimes females can live together if introduced at a young age
- Bedding: aspen
- Accessories: wheel, hideaway, tubes, branches
Food
- mixture of quality rodent blocks and commercial rodent seed mix
- timothy hay
- fresh fruit or veggies once every week to two weeks
- occassional kitten kibble
Breeding
- Maturity: females - 5-8 months old, males - 2 months old
- Gestation: 21-25 days
- Litter size: 1-5
- pregnant female should be moved to an aquarium in last week of gestation on her own
- eyes open around 14 days
- should be fully weaned by 5-6 weeks old
