Part One: Kari's Brainwashing

By: Metal Garurumon 66

Author's Notes:  This is my first fanfic so don’t criticize me harshly, okay? Any way, my story might bore you but now but soon I’ll get into more writing of this. As soon as I get aproval of this. Oh, and I do not own digimon at all!
***********************************************

Kari couldn’t sleep that night. Her door was closed and her parents and her big brother Tai were already asleep. She had a strange feeling that something was going to change her forever. But instead of worrying about it, she finally fell asleep. While Kari slept, a black light came out of her bedside computer, and out of the light came Ken, the Digimon Emperor. "She's sleeping so peacefully," he says. "She is truly worthy of becoming my Digimon Empress." Ken took out his Dark Digivice. "Feel the power of the Dark Digivice!" he said evilly. The Dark Digivice let out an eerie dark glow. The glow covered Kari. Ken watched as her lips formed a smug, evil smile. "She is accepting it!" Ken says. "This must be a very powerful than I thought!"

When Kari woke up the next morning, she felt very strange. Like something was different. She took one look at her clothes. "Pink." she said. "You've got to be kidding me." But then she thought: Wait a second, isn't pink my favorite color?" "How could I ever have liked pink?" she said to herself. "I must have been delirious. If only I had some new clothes." Suddenly, she noticed something beeping on her desk. Kari gasped when she saw what it was- a Dark Digivice! But then, she realized, it did look kind of cool. Plus, it was black instead of that stupid pink one she had last time. Very cool. She thought to herself. She decided not to tell the others about it. T.K. would worry, Cody would try to figure it out, Davis would immediately take Kari's side, and as for Yolei, well, Kari didn't know what Yolei would do. But she knew it wouldn't be good. She threw the Dark Digivice into her backpack, and decided to leave early. She was going to buy some new clothes before school.

Kari entered school that day. T.K. saw her first and left his mouth hanging open. Kari was dressed with a black, long-sleeved Shirt, black, leather pants, and a black necklace around her neck. "Kari?" he finally managed to spit out.

"Who were you expecting, pinhead?" Kari shot at him. Wait a minute, why did I call T.K. a pinhead for no good reason? Kari thought to herself. She shrugged off the weird feeling. T.K. still hadn't responded from Kari's scathing comment and her black clothing, so she walked right on by him.

As the day continued, Kari got more and more used to her new attitude. Pulling off scathing remarks, and acting like she was on top of the world. At the same time, as she got meaner and meaner, she could feel her power growing. After school, the Digidestined was prepared for their normal, 3:30 meeting, but the others showed up early without telling Kari. "Okay, T.A." Davis began. "Why'd you call us here? And where's Kari?"

"You just answered your own question, Davis." T.K. said. "I called this meeting because of Kari."

"I know what you're talking about." Yolei said. "Cody and I saw her today, fully outfitted in black, I might add, and we watched her pull off some more scathing comments on a pair of little kids."

"Yeah, she was just downright nasty!" Cody said.

"Wait a minute, what are you talking about?" Davis asked them.

"I don't know what's up with Kari." T.K. said. "But I know it isn't good." Then, Cody looked out the window.

"We'd better hush up about Kari." Cody said. "She just walked into the school for the meeting!" A couple minutes later, the fully black, fully mean Kari walked in.

"Guess you pinheads don't have lives." Kari said when she walked in. "Since you seem to like to show up so early every time there’s a meeting."

"Hello to you, Miss Sunshine." Davis said sarcastically.

"Yeah, Kari, we want to know what's going on!" T.K. said. Kari pondered that question for a moment. What is going on? Not even she could pin that down for sure. All she knew was that whenever she was mean and nasty, she felt some kind of power inside of her growing, and she liked that. At that moment, the Digimon came out of their hiding places.

"Why is everyone here early?" Patamon wondered.

"Yeah, and why is Kari dressed in black?" Gatomon asked.

"That's none of your business, you stupid cat!" Kari yelled at her Digimon. Gatomon was extremely surprised. Kari had never called her names before. Again, Kari felt that beautiful surge of energy.

"Come on, I'm ready to kick some butt!" Kari said with an evil laugh. She picked up her Dark Digivice. "Digi-Port Open!" Kari said, and went through, with Gatomon jumping after her.

"Was that just my imagination, or was Kari holding a Dark Digivice?" Yolei wondered.

"I saw it too." Cody said.

"Me too." T.K. said. They all turned to Davis.

"Okay, so I saw it to!" Davis said. "Sorry, Kari." he muttered.

"Does that mean Kari's evil?" Patamon wondered.
