All About Me

(Seein' as you just NEEDED to know about me, let's begin.)

Well, you've reached the page that is (you guessed it), all about me. Okay, to start off with, My name is Megan Messina (most people just call me by my alias 'Rayndancer' and/or Auriga; or my name, Meg). I'm 16 years old and looking to pursuing a career in some kind or art, or becoming a Marine Biologist *And yes, I realize the great difference between them*. Infact, kudos to my dear art teacher and great friend, Mr. Bechler :), for urging me on with artwork (You've been a great teacher Mr. B!). Anyway, my current placement is in Northern Michigan, where it's very cold. There is an upside though, coldness brings snow, and snow brings the season of Snowboarding. Yep, other than art, this is one of my other favorite things to do. Nothing like being outside on top of a VERY large hill, the cool crisp wind, whistling past your body, and you and your mind. It's a great sport, one I think everyone should try for once.

I really don't know what sparked off my interest in Anthropomorphic artwork. Maybe it was simply because it was 'different' than the ordinary artwork of outdoor themes, cartoon themes, you know, the 'simple' things I s'pose. It's a style that's like no other and that's a great reason why I continue it. It also interests me to come up with, or go by, a certain character and watch it come to life with a few strokes of pencil lead. I'd like to one day accomplish drawing such realistic pieces, that people will have a hard-time decifering the difference between the art and the real picture. So for now, I'll continue with 'Anthro' art and continue to practice drawing these animals. Remember, each and every one has it's own personality, aura, that special "thing", or so I try and keep in mind.

Hmm, I've been drawing as far as I can remember, which is a fairly long time ago. I've always felt this sort of passion for drawing 'animals', and it seems that's what I seem to 'draw/create' better than some other things. When I was younger I won a few contests for a newspaper as well as auctioning off some of my earlier work in Elementary school. This year I stretched my abilities a little farther and entered a logo contest which I still have yet to recieve the results for (I'll post up my picture if it happens to win ;D). The logo had to be a picture of a 'husky', so I felt a perfect oppurtunity was laid right infront of me. As a matter of fact, one of the reasons I continue to draw, paint, color etc, is because of all the 'complements' and 'sayings' I get. You really don't know how much I appreciate comments (even if some seem to criticise about something being out of porportion or something of that matter, which I see as helping you in correct a mistake). So all the complements, comments, and sayings make me feel so good and I just can't give enough thanks to all you folks. So for that, I'll continue to go on about my work and work for my goal of becoming, "As good as I can be". Hee!
