Mario. He looks like a joke, but believe me, his games are NO joke. Known for being an Italian plumber, he was to save a Princess of a living Mushroom Kingdom from a Lizard. From there on, it was only a matter of time before more friends and foes of the fat red one were added, I have the quite a lot of information here. ROAREYE! |
Mario Bros Mario's first debut with his brother was in the arcade. you had to help each other to kill the hoard of enemies and collect coins. This was a good game and was the best thing about Super Mario Advance. 8/10 |
Super Mario Bros The great game that started his home console debut, Mario leaps along with his friend Luigi through tunnels, pipes and all through the Mushroom Kingdom to save Peach. A great game for you NES and a great game to own on any re-make. BUY BUY BUY! 9/10 |
Super Mario Bros 2 The anticipated sequal to Super Mario Bros is released and it's...crap. A boring, tedious romp where you must pick up items to throw at enemies and find keys. The only really decent thing about this game is the ability to play as Peach and (Large sigh) Toad. 4/10 |
Super Mario Bros 3 After the crappiness of Super Mario Bros 2, some were expecting SMB3 to be the next flop in the Mario series. Miyamoto proved them wrong, and as quickly as he had destroyed the Mario games with SMB2 he regained with more in SMB3. This game has great graphics, sound and gameplay with added things (The Racoon feather) and is a still a great game today. 8/10 |
Super Mario Kart The first in the Mario Karting series, and it's a blast. The graphics are good for the SNES and it is quite fast. The greatness of this game was bettered in MK64 I think, but that's just opinion. This game is a must-have SNES game. 9/10 |
Mario Paint Not the best game, but with a mouse this was quite fun. It's not a game in the direct sense of the word, but it has games in it. You can meddle with original Mario tunes, make your own animations, edit sprites and the bundle. This is a good thing to get ONLY if you fork out for the mouse. 6.5/10 |
Super Mario Allstars A GREAT GAME! A basic compilation at first, but it has games that were never released outside of Japan and a ton of extras for you to play. If you own a SNES and not this then you're owning an incomplete console! BUY THIS! It is absolutely amazing! 10/10 |
Super Mario Bros Deluxe A great game in itself, even if it is just the original Super Mario Bros with added features. There is still alot more things here for you to work for that weren't apparent in the original game, plus the great game itself is enough to get you drooling. If you don't own the original Super Mario Bros on the NES, then this is a perfect game to add to your collection, with all the fun of the original and all the added features of a new game you cannot be without this on your GameBoy! 10/10 |
Super Mario Advance Super Mario Advance has it's good points. The original Mario Bros game is superb, especially in two player! The fast-paced and outragious turn of each match is brilliant. However, the main game is much too boring. Super Mario Bros 2 with the repeated 'pick up and throw' objective was too slow and boring for the most fun, so Nintendo made a bad choice to make this game the first Mario game released for the GBA. It could be worth buying just for Mario Bros, but with Super Mario Advance rumoured to have the same multi-player game, you may as well wait for the next game before parting with your hard-earned cash. 6/10 |
Super Mario Advance 2 Super Mario Advance 2 is a much better game than the first advance. Mostly because it's modelled over Mario World rather than the crappy Mario Bros 2. It still includes the original Mario Bros arcade game for a multiplayer, but it is slightly wasted with no upgrades to it and no added extras. This is better than the original Advance, but only because of the main game. Unfortunately, this is yet another port of an old Mario classic. Why can't we be getting any new ones? 7.5/10 |
Super Mario Advance 3 Super Mario Advance 3 has gone a step up from the previous instalments. Instead of using an old NES classic, they've moved to the SNES ones instead. Yoshi's Island is a great game and is certainly fun to play, also it includes the original Mario Bros game but with, again, NO EXTRAS! Nintendo had better get their act in gear because Sonic's still winning the war on GBA at the moment. 7.5/10 |
Mario Kart Super Circuit Mario Kart Super Circuit(MKSC) is a cross between Super Mario Kart on the SNES and Mario Kart 64 on the N64. Of course, the graphics aren't as good as the N64's but they're a damn sight better than the SNES'. With eight cups(4 normal, 4 extras). The 4 extra's are remakes of the SNES versions, which suggests that there may be extra cups on the new GameCube Mario Kart which are re-makes of the N64 ones! This is still at rumour stage and is not proven true. This game is incredible, but to get the best out of the multi-player you need a multi-cart link-up, otherwise you only get 4 tracks and Yoshi in different colours! 8.5/10 |
Super Mario 64 With Sonic's brilliant first-ever 3D platformer canned, Nintendo thought they'd take the limelight and create one on Mario. Luckily, no-one else though of a 3D adventure-platformer, so Mario stepped into Sonic's now remaining shoes and released Super Mario 64 as the first-ever fully 3D adventure-platformer! Make no mistake, a classic at release, a classic of even the Newbie-gamers time! This is still one of the best games on the N64! 10/10 |
Mario Kart 64 This is one of the most fun racers ever played, it's great! With very few flaws it certainly will entertain you for hours at a time. Get four mates round for mass-battles and frenzies and even go on Grand Prix with 2 players! This is a must-have in your N64 collection. 9/10 |
Super Smash Bros Only one of the best fighters in the entire world! You cannot describe this game except the most fun and extremely original fighter produced by Nintendo, or in fact, any company! with a large array of characters, secrets to unlock and mini-gmaes, this is a great one player, if not a bit dull after a while. But if you play the multiplayer, you'll see why this rocks. The multi=player (Up to 4!) is the best multi-players made! With a sequal out on GameCube, this is unfaultable! And don't let the normal 'It's a cutesy fighter' put you off. If you miss this, you miss out and that would be your own fault! A MUST BUY unless you have no friends. 9/10 |
Mario Party This game, along with Super Smash Bros, is one of the best games you can buy multi-player scraps. Unfotunatly, the four player isn't as good as the three player if you feel like ganging on someone. This has a one-player length of about a few hours, but the multi-player length of forever. Unleash the Mini-games, Reign the Boards and BE the Party! Mario Party! 7/10 |
Super Smash Bros Melee This game makes Smahs Bros look like a Mini-game. It is packed with about 300 trophies, all of which have different ways of being collected and all from past Nintendo games. It sports brilliant graphics and superb reaction, loading time and..well...everything. The fighting's been spruced up for maximum enjoyment and the amount of characters is second to none. All with different skills (Exceot for the Link and Young Link escapade). Along with the characters is mini-games, melees and of course the massive multiplayer. Sporting wel over double the last game's amount, you can be assured that this will last longer than it's predeccesor. The down sides would be that to take camera shots, you need to be in camera mode (crappy) and that some of the level design isn't as good as it's predecessors (For example, you can't travel down the pipes in Mushroom Kingdom). Overall, this is a must-have game. 10/10 |
