Not many people have heard of the company Wolf Team. They only released games on the Mega/Sega CD for Mega Drive/Genesis. The reason they have an archive? Because the games they released were hard, but also extremely fun and playable! To defeat the sprite-3D graphics which the Mega CD could only cope with, they decided in a great new idea. Two of their games, Road Avenger and Cobra Command, were just manga videos really. You watched what happened. You think Shenmue made up QTE's(Quick Timed Event's)? Well you thought wrong. As the film plays, you had to press the relevant direction/button to complete the game. Sol Feace had a manga beginning but was an extremely hard 2D Side-Scrolling Shooter. ROAREYE! |
This is the review of one of the compilated games, Sol Feace. This and Cobra command were created in 1992. It's not very well known, but it is regularly seen and is the best 2D shooter I've played. Mega CD This is the best 2D-Shooter I've ever played, not to mention the hardest! This has only 5 levels, but I can bet you won't even see the third one for at least and hour or two's extended play(The levels aren't long, they're just very hard). A hard game, a fun game, and one that'll last you a long time. Not many games take as long as Wolf Team's to complete, even though the games have a small amount of levels! This is hard, fun and well worth under £5.00 with Cobra Command.7/10 |
Cobra Command, batched with Sol-Feace make an excellent purchase. This game saw you inside your copter blasting away millions of terrorist enemies. I caution those who went through a bad time with the Twin-Towers. Mega CD The hardest game ever, but still undeniable fun. You may get fed up if you keep dying and turn it off, but something will guide you back to it's arms to play again and again. A great game and well worth the price, worth more since it's stacked with Sol-Feace.7.5/10 |
Unbeatable fun, this is the best of the three, and strangely the easiest. Still don't expect an easy ride. This top game has lots more little tricks up it's sleeve. Mega CD
This is probably what the QTE's from Shenmue were based from, although Shenmue wasn't all QTE's. But this is. This doesn't shorten it's fun. You get a sense of satisfaction after completing each level and you'll love the amazing stunts the car does when you get the in-play cut-scenes. If you havn't got this game on the Mega CD then you're missing out on one of the best games on the Mega CD. Do yourself a favour and cash out a fiver to buy this because it's brilliant fun!10/10 |
Easier than headbutting a wall and getting hurt. This is made for 'girls' as it was made during the 'boy' and 'girl' games problem of the time. This was SO easy, and despite having alot of levels, they were all shorter than a GameCube disc and simple to suss out. Mega CD
Telenet and Wolf Team fouled up this time. This game is crap. Saved only by the fact that it is slightly addictive for a couple of hours and there's lots of levels. Unfortunately, it'll take more than those two things to save a game, no matter who it's made by. You control a girl with an annoyingly girly voice over lots of short and easy levels to stop a man called Lura. And to top it all off, the level skip cheat is too easy that I found it by accident! All you have to do is press Start then C! HOW STUPID! You don't even have to put in a cheat before hand, just Start and C. Oh well. I suppose all games have their let-downs.4/10 |
