1. ai ga naiteru
The first thing you'll notice about this song is the distinct Latin feel. Lots of acoustic guitar, clapping, percussion... that kind of thing. hiro begins by singing "la la la" and I at first was worried that this woud be a corny song. However, when the verses start, hiro displays a level of control and maturity that surprised me. Her voice has improved so much since her days with SPEED. Also, this song has a really catchy melody and an infective chorus. I think it's almost impossible to dislike this song. This is hiro's first foray into the Latin-pop subgenre, but she does it surprisingly well. The brass instruments add a nice dimension to this track, as does the acoustic guitar solo. All in all, this is high quality pop music that will probably have you at least tapping your toes or snapping your fingers.

2. ningyo no koi
I've always liked hiro's r&b-ish songs for some reason. This one starts off with a filtered hiro-voice singing quietly. Then some synthed in string instruments burst in, and the song takes on a kind of disco/funk feel. Again, hiro's voice is very clear and perfectly on pitch. The chorus of this song is so cute and bouncy. It's so much better than her past few singles! I can almost imagine John Travolta dancing to this. Okay, I can't, but you get the point. For fans of old school jpop, this is a nice fusion of styles that seems both familiar and fresh. I like it, and you should too.

3. LOVE IS SHOUTING OUT
And so are the all caps, but who am I to complain? This song acutally has the same melody as "ai ga naiteru". Oh well. Either way, three songs (plus two instrumentals) on a single is pretty nice. This starts off with some a cappella vocals which are just singing nonsense scat syllables. This continues while some piano and percussion is added, but after a while it gets annoying. When hiro finally gets to sing, it's in English. And it's... good! I mean, I can understand every word and she has only the slightest accent. Go hiro! This is a mid-tempo song, and has lost all of the Latin feel. hiro turns in another nice performance, but this track is missing the energy that made the first two so good. I like it, but it's nothing phenomenal.
Rating: 7

The last two tracks are, of course, instrumentals, perfect for all your karaoke needs.
