He has resinged because of back trouble. Steve thought of the music career as "retarded" and never thought he wanted to do it. That soon changed. But when he was young, the only connection to music he had was his grandmother playing the same three songs repeatedly on the piano. Steve and Kevin used to practice together in a rap band called F.O.S. Kevin as the drummer. Steve enjoys Elvis Presely very greatly and has apriciation for reggae music. He had one son named Presely Harwell, who died young from lukemia. Steve is the lead singer to Smash Mouth, never having sung at all until the band. His singing is very unique and has touched us all in a musical way that is awesome to listen to.

Full Name: Gregory Dean Camp Birthdate: April 2, 1967 - West Covina CA Contribution to Band: Guitar, Writer Greg Camp was very talented as a teen, surfing song writing, guitar playing, etc. He has been through several failing bands, such as Lackadaddy, which he shared with Paul Delisle. Greg is excellent at writing music and has produced many songs that only gain greatness as he writes them. Greg has always had some form of music involvemen,t or at least since he was very song. His favorite type of music is anything that sounds good. Greg in a way is teh leader of the band, though some take him for granted for his lyrics, thinking them as Steve's, as he sings them. But nearly every song by this band was written by Greg Camp, and all should know that. Greg's lyrics have changed greatly. They were once rather angry and dark, but now they seem lighter and more directed toward fun.

Full Name: Paul Gerald DeLisle Birthdate: June 13, 1963 - Exeter Ontario Contribution to Band: Bass Paul was born in Canada, but is a true American citizen. He is more of the passive quite type, not the wild member of the band. Changing hairstyles and physical shape rapidly, Paul has brought terrific bass background to the band for their 6 years worth of albums. When he was young, he was influenced by bands such as Van Halen, and ska music. He asked his parents for a guitar and he got a ukulele. Finally after convincing them by mastering the instrument, they gave him a bass. Paul never learned guitar, like most bassists first. He first played in a band called Earthbound, when he was 14. Well, he was kicked out of it, even though he was the oldest member. When he met up with Greg Camp, his life changed and Smash Mouth was born. Paul enjoys ska, punk rock and rock styles of music. He has a wife and enjoys life to the fullest.

Name: Michaell Urbano Born In: Sacremento Contribution to Band: Drums Michael is a new recruit to the band. He replaced Kevin Coleman who suffered from back trouble. Michael is a fine drummer, who had to convince Greg to let him join after they lost Kevin. Before Smash Mouth, Mike Urbano was a type of bounty-drummer, drumming for higher (at least, that's how I understood it). When he came to Smash Mouth, he fit in just well, nailing that energetic Smash Mouth attitude. Michael is a new great contribution to the Smash Mouth gang.
