Long ago there was an evil elf. His name was Strun Drio. He and his minions terrorized the land, and twisted good people with his dark powers. He had the power to change a person's mind, their feelings, to make them want to do his bidding. His enemies soon became allies, and even those who hoped to oppose him turned loyal, his realm soon spread over all the Earth, then started to seep into Lylack. (At this time earth had not yet developed its sciences and some of the magic's still dwelt there) The same happened on Lylack as it had on Earth. He made all who opposed him his. Any army thrown against him became his to rule. But even the great Strun Drio fell pray to something called "love". When raiding a small peasant farm he found an elf girl. She refused to go with him, and he was furious. She claimed she was already married. And to a human no less. Strun Drio killed her on the spot. Her husband returned, and he dealt likewise to him. Only the son escaped unknown to Strun. When Strun left, that Son fled for his life. Years past and the woman he once loved was only a scar left in the back of Drios mind. He continued to gain more control of the land pressing his armies forward. 20 years later he found that son. He'd married and had lived a life in hiding. He'd aged; something Drio saw no point in doing. He killed the son on a whim. Now that son had married a Kender. Something almost more forbidden at the time as it was now. But it wasn't an ordinary kender; this one showed common sense and wasn't always dragging things into the house. Well, at least not most of the time. They had a son as well. The mother was caught and killed, but a strange girl came to the rescue of the child taking him from the clutches of Strun Drio. The boys' name was Soi Ali. She took him the cave where the wind slept. The boy was just a babe, and grew up with the wind as his only friend, knowing the girl as his mother. Never knowing what having a father was like, or what others did. To him the wind isn't a force of nature, but living creatures. When the child turned four Strun Drio had finally conquered both worlds and started on another. No one could stop him. One day Strun Drio heard of a relative of the family line he tried to kill off was still hiding in a cave. He went to search for this child. By the time Strun Drio found him he was five. But the child had been trained to with stand against Strun Drio, and the wind fought for him. When Strun Drio entered the cave he couldn't reach the child for the wind blew him back. He decided it would be easiest if he made the child come of his own free will, but the wind hopped into the boys' ears and blew out all the fiendish words. Soi Ali picked up a sword discarded by Strun Drio and threw it at him. The sword flew threw the air with great accuracy and struck him in the chest. Strun Drio died and all that had followed him came back to their senses. The world returned to normal, or at least as normal as it had been before. Now at this time, there were others who would take advantage of the boy. And though the boy knew he had to go, he wanted to stay. He wished he could do both somehow. His wish was granted. For those that knew they could corrupt the boy convinced the good powers that he should be granted one wish, one from his heart. Thus the boy was flung through time to a place where he could be guarded from evil and his memory was washed of all past doings so that he wouldn't remember what had happened. And at the same time, to fulfill his wish, he stayed there, in the time when he had defeated his foe. After awhile, Truth turned to legend, then to myth, and then was forgotten. However, one book still contained the legend, the legend of Soi Ali. But the tale did not end there, where the book had stopped, and much had been left untold. What happened to the girl who took care of Soi Ali? No one knows. The Soi Ali who stayed grew old, but slowly, very slowly. His elven blood made him immortal, immune to time. And he had aged to be around forty when the time he, as the boy who had been sent to then, came back into the picture. The Soi Ali who had stayed behind had indeed been corrupted by the darkness, and he had become greedy with little of his common sense left. He'd created a flying castle. The wind kept it up. In the castle was a library, this library contained the only remaining copy of the legend. Then one day his castle dipped causing him to wonder why. Then he remembered, remembered the other him. It was draining his wind. This he saw not as a problem, but as opportunity. Surely since the other was also him, he would join his side. Then they would be twice as powerful. There was a problem none knew about. Strun Drio had a gong. A magical Gong. One that could take him backs to this world.
