You will need the following: -Mod podge or some other paper mache gule. If you want to make your own mix 3 parts water to 1 part flour. -Craft paint. Silver, gold and a yellow color similar to the color of natural wood. -paint brushes -Gold paint pen for elvish designs. -Enough cardboard to cut out two knife shapes. The blade is 15 inches, and the handle is about 9 inches. Over all the sword is about 24 inches long. -One posterboard -Gobbs and Gobbs of newspaper cut into strips. -Aluminum foil. The dollar store is a good place to buy it from. -Masking tape. Again check the dollar store -Sand paper 
-Trace the pattern of the knives onto the cardboard and then cut it out. If you are going to make two knives then you need to do this twice. -Wrap the blade end in foil. You want to try and keep this end thin to look more like a blade. -Wrap the handle in foil to the thickness that best fits your hand. -After your finished with the foil wrap the whole sword in tape. -Next you will need to paper mache the whole knife. This can get kind of messy so if its nice outside I suggest you do it out on the porch. Or you can lay newspaper on a tabel to help catch any spills. -Dip a strip of news paper into the paper mache glue. Hold the strip with one hand and using your other hand place the paper strip between your thumb and index finger and squeez the excess glue out. Do this over the gule bowl to prevent mess and save gule. -Continue until the whole knife is paper mached. -Once that is done you will need to let it dry for about 24 hours. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less. -I used 1 styrofoam plate setting rightside up to lay the knife down to dry. Bowls work well too! -Once the knife is completely dry sand out any rough edges or bumps with the sand paper. -Next paint the blade of the sword silver. -Once the blade is done paint the handle your yellow wood color. -After all the paint is dry use a pencil to drawl on the elvish desing. -Paint the elvish desings in gold. Dont forget to paint the end of the handle gold! -After everything is done go back in and touch up where needed.
