Speaking of scumbags... let's talk about Brock

I can't think of another ex-WWE wrestler off the top of my head who received as much of a mega-push, and appreciated it as little, as Brock Lesnar.

Within one year of his debut, he became the youngest WWE Champion in history. He plowed over big-name talent left and right, from the Rock to Kurt Angle to Hulk Hogan and just about everyone in between. He showed great promise in the ring and, for his size, remarkable athletic ability, while exhibiting sub-par mic skills with a voice that would make Mickey Mouse snicker. He did some things very well, and some things not so well; but taken as a whole, he really did look to be "the next big thing" and a star that would be headlining in World Wrestling Entertainment for years and years to come.

Then again, like they always say, anything can happen in the WWE.

And one day, it did. With not even one full week to go before Wrestlemania XX, Brock Lesnar gave his "notice"- he would be leaving the company after the PPV. Just like that. WWE had put their faith in him, made him a champion, and were depending on him to carry the load of the star-lacking Smackdown- and, completely disregarding all of that, and not even thinking about all of the chaos which would be caused with such an abrupt departure, Brock just left- saying he wanted to play football in the NFL. He wrestled a (piss-poor) last match against Goldbarf at Wrestlemania XX, and then was never seen again.

Let me tell you... I was there that night at Madison Square Garden, and Brock was the most hated man in the building. While waiting in the massive lines of fans to get to our seats, Brock's leaving was the subject of most peoples' conversations- and the subject of 90% of their in-line chants. "LESNAR SUCKS" must've been chanted in that line about 30 times at least in the three hours I was waiting with my buddies for the arena to let the fans take their seats. When Brock actually came out to the ring for his match, the crowd erupted into boos. Both Brock and Goldberg were leaving after WMXX, but the majority of the boos were directed at Brock, because his manner of leaving, the abruptness of it, was regarded as so unprofessional and unappreciative, that every fan at MSG was determined to ride this man's ass until the moment he stepped behind the curtain. And that's what we did. There were "LESNAR SUCKS" and even "F*CK YOU BROCK" chants throughout the (awful) match. By the end of the match, Brock was so riled up by the chants that he actually flipped us all off before he left. I thought it was a riot, personally. It means that we got to him. I was honored to be a part of such a glorious event.

Since leaving the WWE, Brock has taken opportunity after opportunity to bash the company that made him famous, the company without which nobody in America, nobody in the world would know who the hell Brock Lesnar is. He's shown absolutely no gratitude for being given a monster-push which most young wrestlers would kill to have; instead he continuously rips not only WWE but the wrestling business in general. First he claimed that wrestling was "too easy". Too easy? Was it easy when you failed a Shooting Star Press at Wrestlemania XIX and broke your neck, Brock? Was that easy? Was the rehab easy? Was the road schedule you complained about ("Waaaaa, I barely have 30 minutes a day to work out!!!!!!!!!") too easy? How would Brock feel if he found out that most NFL players consider professional wrestling more difficult that playing pro football? See Steve McMichael, who will attest to that, as will Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor, and any other NFL player who has made the crossover before, even if it was only for one match.

Adding to my recent detestation of Brock Lesnar was his recent declaration, "I hate f@gs" in an article discussing his upcoming NFL career. That and the fact that he's now engaged to *gags self with a butterknife* SABLE should sum up the rest of his personality perfectly.

Now, Brock is apparently shunning his own fans. He recently refused to sign a poster of himself for a fan who saw him at the Minnesota Vikings training camp. “That was a part of my life, and I just don’t sign that stuff anymore. Just in case I never go back. They’d have that and they’d just sell it on eBay," Brock was quoted as saying. Oh, and apparently, Brock isn't doing so well at the Vikings training camp, either. On the first day in, he actually got into a scuffle with another player, and now it seems that the coaches aren't overly impressed with his ability. If not for the WWE, he'd probably never have even gotten into the camp to begin with.

Brock Lesnar should show some more appreciation to the company that made him what he is. Shortly before leaving the WWE, he bought himself a jet. He was living the lifestyle of a king. He had attained financial independence at a young age, and he had a large fanbase around the world. Brock has Vince McMahon and the WWE to thank for all of that; instead, he's just pissing on them all, and on the fans that came to love him. He's a disgrace and an ingrate. I personally do hope that he makes the Vikings starting line-up- I would dearly love to watch him get plowed over on a football field. He deserves nothing less.
