It's truly amazing just how quickly my enjoyment of WWE can dissolve these days.

Or maybe it's not amazing. Maybe it's simply a logical result of an assload of poorly-made decisions and ideas on the part of WWE over the past month. I've seen enough unbelievable and disturbing pieces of WWE news and rumors, as well as horrid booking, during the month of April to both make my head spin and to discourage me in regards to what we can expect on TV for anytime in the forseeable future.

Some of the news, rumors, and horrid booking I'm referring to are the releases of Rhyno, Matt Hardy, and Molly Holly, the announcement of a second "Diva Search", the announcement of another upcoming draft lottery, rumors of Shawn Michaels being swapped over to Smackdown, a rumor that Batista would go to Smackdown to feud with JBL because he "has no chemistry with Triple H" (who the hell actually believes that that's true, anyway?), and the new World Champion Batista getting practically no air time.

I'm not the only one displeased with all this crap. Rather than simply rant and rave like I usually do, I think I'll let some other people speak for me... and for wrestling fans in general. Basically, I've collected a bunch of quotes from various members of a wrestling forum I post at, regarding all the ridiculousness that's occurred in WWE throughout the month of April thus far. All of these are real quotes from numerous different people (trust me, if I wanted to make stuff up I'd just write a long rant myself), and these comments represent the opinions of the majority of the board's members. All of these people are huge, dedicated fans... and I think if WWE were to read some of their comments on certain storylines/news-bits/rumors, they'd be in for a real wake-up call.

Where to begin... how about with the release of Matt Hardy?

"This is such bull. Matt has such a huge fan base, and has worked so hard to get where he is today. All he ever wanted to be was a wrestler, and all he cared about was wrestling. He was so dedicated to the WWE and they fucking kick him when he's down. Maybe he shouldn't have went so public on the whole situation but Matt's fans are so loyal and he felt we should know. FUCK YOU WWE!! FUCK YOU!

"WHAT??? That is so f*cking insane and unfair! Fire Edge, he sucks!!! >_< I hate WWE officials right now..."

"I was so shocked to read the headline. Put aside the whole Edge/Lita/Matt mess, Matt was a great asset to the company. I don't get it...he had a large fan base and had tremendous ability."

Nope, I don't think anybody got bent out of shape over Matt being canned.

Moving on... here are some examples about how excited people on the forum got at news of the upcoming draft lottery!

"This whole thing is such a crock of shit. Jam the brands back together. That'll solve alot of the problem. Jesus Christ."

"I hate the stupid draft. I was literally close to throwing up last year, and it wasn't fun."

"I ...can't bring myself to be anything other than effing disappointed that they're doing this again this year. And that McMahon wants to do this every year. What the hell is he thinking? Yeah. This just absolutely sucks."

"I'm just going to keep my mouth shut on this lottery thing anymore. It's freakin ridiculous. Whoever thought of it, should be taken out to the woodshed and shot."

Indeed, clearly wrestling fans are just on the edge of their seats waiting for the next draft. I mean, I know I'm SOOOO excited at the thought of seeing my favorite guys go to the other show that I rarely watch (i.e., Smackdown). You know, I still haven't recovered from last year's draft lottery where I had to experience the horror of almost seeing Hunter end up on SD. I can't imagine having to go through this crap every year after Wrestlemania... if anything it makes me look forward to that time of year significantly less- and clearly I'm not the only one who feels this way. But since I'm planning on doing an editorial soon about why the entire brand extension is a complete crock to begin with, I'll just leave off of it for now.

Next on the agenda: reactions to the announcement of a second Diva Search contest:

"It was so painful to watch last fall, and to think that we have to suffer through that again is nauseating. It makes me wonder what the contestants will have to do this time to win. Plus, hasn't the WWE already hired enough "divas" like Candice and Maria to satisfy them for the time being?"

"they're just making WWE look weak. What they're doing is making it look like anybody can get into this business even if they don't know a thing about wrestling or its history. I can't believe we have to sit through this again."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I particularly like the last comment, for its simple eloquence in expressing how 99% of true wrestling fans feel about this worthless contest.

And in closing, I'll had a few random comments I came across on the WWE "creative" team (the quotation marks are there for a reason...) following some of the sheer garbage that has been booked lately:

"A 2 year old with a freakin' Crayola marker and a scribble tablet, is more creative then the WWE creative team."

"I highly doubt creative could remove themselves from a wet paper bag, facing the opening, with a map and a flashlight in hand at this point."

"WWE has gone MAD...."

The last one about sums up my and many other fans' general feelings towards the current state of WWE. I don't think I've seen one positive piece of WWE news this month other than that Hunter's neck injury is not serious. Everything else has been one piece of horrible news after another. Just another diva search and draft lottery in themselves are enough to make my interest in the shows wane.

The saddest thing about all of this is that WWE doesn't seem to even remotely care that so many fans are displeased with everything that's going on. I know I can't be the only fan who's noticed that their little fan feedback thing that used to be on WWE.com has vanished, and that the company no longer takes ideas/suggestions/feedback from fans at all. Oh but hell, why should they... I mean most of us have been watching for years if not our whole lives, what could we possibly know about the business that some asshole who wrote for a sitcom and is now on the creative team wouldn't? Psh. I really try to remain optimistic, because I love WWE and always have, but during times like this it's very hard to find something to look forward to.

Thank God I have my old tapes and DVDs... I think I'm going to be watching more of them in the coming months than I am of the actual shows, if things keep going down their current path.
