Rowling chapters.indigo Review Harry Potter manages to find trouble and excitement even while on summer holiday. First, his nasty relatives, the Dursley's ground him for using the M-word (That's magic for all you who don't know yet), then he's rescued by a flying car piloted by his friend Ron but not before a mysterious house-elf warns him not to return to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft in the fall. Ignoring the warning, Harry and his sidekicks find themselves caught up in the eccentricities of the new Professor Lockheart, a ghost scaring people stiff permanently and the mysterious Chamber of Secrets, the source from which all the trouble stems. Narrated by Jim Dale, this abridged audiocassette of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets will please, frighten and amuse every bit as much as the book. From the Publisher The Dursleys were so mean that hideous that summer that all Harry Potter wanted was to get back to the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. But just as he’s packing his bags, Harry receives a warning from a strange, impish creature named Dobby who says that if Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts, disaster will strike. And strike it does. For in Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, fresh torments and horrors arise, including an outrageously stuck-up new professor, Gilderoy Lockheart, a spirit named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girls’ bathroom, and the unwanted attentions of Ron Weasley’s younger sister, Ginny. But each of these seem minor annoyances when the real trouble begins, and someone--or something--starts turning Hogwarts students to stone. Could it be Draco Malfoy, a more poisonous rival than ever? Could it possibly be Hagrid, whose mysterious past is finally told? Or could it be the one everyone at Hogwarts most suspects...Harry Potter himself? About the Author J.K. Rowling was a struggling single mother when she wrote the beginnings of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on scraps of paper at a local cafe. But her efforts were soon rewarded with an award from the Scottish Arts Council enabling her to finish the novel. She has since won numerous awards including the ABBY Award (American Booksellers Award) 1999. Review Quotes "Surely the vilest household in children’s literature since the family Roald Dahl created for Matilda. Harry himself is the perfect confused and unassuming hero." --School Library Journal, starred review Reader Reviews Average Reader Review: Number of Reviews: 3 1. best book Reviewer: fatima from thornhill, ontario Date: 12/16/2000 10:33:14 AM harry potter and the chamber of secrets was an amazing book. it was adventurous, joy ful, and had srrow. in it harry meats lord Vuldemort for a third time. he had met him in the chamber of secrets! also harry found out why hagrid had been expelled from hogwarts. 2. A Awsome book Reviewer: Jennifer Chen from Richmond Hill Ontario (littleflyingsaucer@hotmail.com) Date: 8/29/2000 7:35:22 PM This book is the best i knew it by the the first seven chapter's. it's so intersting i can't put the book down. I can't wait to read the third one. It's so intersting that i told my friends to buy one and guess what they did. I especiaally like the second chapter because there's this elf name Dobby and he's a house elf he tells Harry not to go back to Hogwarts wichcraft and Wizardy. Dobby's master's were the Malfoy's . Harry's enemies were also the Malfoy's. Dobby told Harry not to back to Hogwarts because somebody was planning to attack Harry. I can't wait till i read the third book. It's really good read it you're self if you need to because i recamond this book. Happy reading! 3.
